Just some inconsequential laughter, man, keep your hair on.

I thought it was funny AF. I literally LOL'd, and I don't do that often. Thanks for the laugh, @martinjuenke.

RME stuff is top notch, saddened I had to retire a RME HDSP 9632.

On another note, I'm looking at a Focusrite Clarett+ 8Pre, their Scarlett 18i20 4th Gen has had a significant component upgrade after the chip crisis. These 2 a have a more digestible price tag.

Good call. I have been using RME interfaces for a while. Funny I looked into the only USB-3 Apollo interface available (the only one available for Windows) and decided to go with the RME as well. I decided the flagship USB-3 RME interface was overkill for my home studio.

Thomann has some other good deals in US dollars, though, on lower end gear from Novation and IKM. I almost suspect they are returns or refurbished. It is tempting.

UFX III price dropped as well from 2599eu to 2199eu. (Tempting)
Babyface Pro FS too to 759eu. (Also very tempting)

TD 3 MO also dropped down to 159eu, might finally grab one, when I make up my mind about grabbing this or not down to 264eu from 333eu https://www.thomann.de/gr/diezel_herber ... preamp.htm

Thomann is killing it this year, Musicstore too with less deals so far but equally good.

There are some large (and small) online retailers in the US who sell B-stocks and open boxes as new.

Example:

I bought my Yamaha powered monitors from Musiciansfriend at $400 each (this was well over 10 years ago). One of them arrived with a broken driver. It sounded like a fart. I played a sine wave through it for one of their support people over the phone and they RMA'd it for a replacement with no argument - easy. I wrapped it back up in its box and shipping box, printed the RMA shipping label, and off it went. A week or so later, its "replacement" arrived. The box looked suspiciously familiar. I opened it, plugged it in, and got the farty sound. I guess they reshelved or something and then sent me the same monitor back as a replacement. So... back it went a second time. The second replacement was different and fine.

There have been other times I have received "new" items from other online retailers that had obviously been opened, messed with, and put back, including items with fingerprints on them that should have been sealed in the box. So yeah... just because it is marked as new does not mean it is not open box/return. The Yamaha monitor was the only time I RMA'd something, though.

I once had an argument with the owner of a small, boutique guitar shop that the Melancon guitar he had on his wall for literally over a year was no longer a new guitar, and I made him an offer that was reasonable for a used boutique instrument of that caliber (competes with Shur and Anderson). He declined it.

Melancon's are amazing. Better than Anderson, IME, and arguably better than Suhr, although I prefer Suhr's technology.

Yeah, the particular guitar was a Strat-type body made out of Koa wood with a rosewood fingerboard (I can't remember if the neck was Koa as well). Pickups with HSS with a coil tap for the bridge pickup. I have an (American not Korean Tribute series) G&L s500 that I bought used at the same store for $650. It was the owner's dad's first guitar. I sold an American Fender Strat Deluxe and kept the G&L! I also bought a Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr from them at some point in time. It is a great clean-to-slightly dirty amp, though I wouldn't call it "bedroom level" at full volume. I bought an "Air Brake" to go with it. Even the Korean G&Ls are pretty good. A used ASAT makes a great beginner's guitar.

Honestly right now I lost my chops; too old and too much time with muscle memory maintenance to keep it going. I used to play Mandolin and piano (and saxophone haha), too (same about the chops).

Rad amp. Underrated these days. Reminds me a lot of the Bruno Underground 30.
