IIRC, the Plugin Alliance plugins don't have uninstallers on Windows either.

Yes, that's really dumb. Especially as no one has a crystal ball to know where the installers installs config and user files etc. Not that every uninstaller also removes those, but, if you have to remove the plugin by hand, you have to remove the config and user files by hand in any case.

Why are you still doing it that way when Wide Blue Sound has a fail-safe one-click free app specifically designed for that task?
I can't be bothered to use it. I also enjoy looking at the search results as it usually teaches me something new such as where other certain files are etc.

Dude. Can you delete Safari from your Mac permanently?

Post

Probably. I think you just drag the Safari app to the trash can. But no one would ever try because Safari is good.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Yes but that would only be "permanent" until you perform the next MacOS upgrade and then Apple will put Safari back.

Also, searching on a Mac for just the app name will not give you all the associated files, if they are named for the developer and not the product. I don't think Wideblue's tool will get everything either because it keys off the installer receipts, especially if the files get created on first use rather than during the install. I recommend a combination of AppCleaner and Wideblue, and you'll get most of the cruft ... but perhaps still not all of it.

If you did the MegaBundle plan for a year, you are deleting 136 files in each of the VST3, AU, AAX locations so it's 408 files. And in each of those locations it isn't always obvious which ones are Plugin Alliance, so you have to go one at a time by name to each of the locations. It's a major pain.

EDIT : Figured out easy solution for Mac.

There is a program called PlugInfo. It scans all your plugins on your system and shows them in a list, and you can then sort by Publisher. Then for example, you can select all 'AAX' Plugin-Alliance plugins, and right click the selection, and choose 'Show in Finder'. Finder opens with all the plugins selected, so you can just move them all to Trash in one go. Then just repeat for AU and VST3
