Thanks folks didn't ever think of TDR Nova or dynamic EQ's as MB compressors but I guess it makes sense

Got lens & minimal audio fuse on my wishlist now

Fabfilter Pro-MB is my main workhorse for sure

Post

I don't feel like I need one.

TDR has a great free one. But usually I stick to FabFilter

lens is a steal @ $12 :tu:

I always liked the izotope trash mb compressor. They removed it from trash but they still have a mb comp in neutron so that will probably be my go to. Just acquired it with k15.

Damn that's insane, I'm using the free version a lot. Thanks for the hint.
Couture looks interesting too

I have always used Ozone for that myself - mainly out of habit now. Wave Arts has a decent multiband compressor.

But it's not a multiband compressor. It's an eq.
I know that, but the more I experiment with multiband comps and eq's, the more I realize how similar they are. Fabfilter pro MB could have easily been marketed as a multi band EQ and I don't think anyone would have known the difference.

Pretty much every eq is multi band. Are you referring to dynamic EQ? Or are you referring to the linear phase crossover waves multi band compressor? I would notice if someone marketed a compressor as an equalizer. Or if someone marketed a "multi band eq" at all.

Indeed, feel like a dope . My bad. I was referring to the multi band comp. It looks so similar to the EQ I got them mixed up. So often we see the same attack, release, threshold controls for both dynamic comps and EQ's. Easy to confuse the two.

Apologies dblock. I see where you were coming from now.

Waves C4 or Linear Phase Multiband Comp

The one from Reaper is solid. I think it's part of ReaPlugs.

+1 for Fabfilter MB here (... & Fabfilter Saturn 2 for more color options ...)

ReaXcomp is awesome. I didn't ever install the Reaplugs on my latest workstation so I forgot about it. They are all damn good for freebies. The ReaFIR ft processor can do spectral dynamics for extreme processing, broadband noise reduction, etc.
