Not one single Neve Native plugin. They put out native plugins that are way less popular. Irritating.

The 1073 is native if you own the DSP version.

It seems like this is very clearly a Neve decision.

Yeah, don't have it. Maybe you're right. Tried a million Neve-ish plugins but wanted to give UAD a try just based on the quality of the other native UAD plugins I already have.

I don't feel like paying for the same plugins again...
The new Save The Music bundle was one of the things I was alluding to earlier, plus there will be some other things launching by early December.

It might also be a good idea to reach out to UA's customer support. Maybe they'll let you qualify for the $199 Signature Bundle Upgrade, which might be the best way to go since that will make it easier to upgrade in the future.

Well that exchange was refreshing! :)

I'm trying to resist this myself. I really only care about the 6176, SSL buss comp, and the Ampex. Still not a bad deal though.

Been tempted by that one for the 6176 on its own (own everything else in the bundle for the most part). I think I got a $30 coupon for donating to that campaign to use too..

EDIT: Damn, that coupon is $50 but I gotta spend $100 to use it hah.

The Save The Music bundle will be available until December 31. There are still more promotions to come before then so maybe you'll be able to find something to combine it with to reach the coupon eligibility.

Nah - I don't buy that - dude quoted someone else who claimed that a different Pultec emu was "just as good" as the UAD one with the reply "I doubt it". That's not coming from someone who means "best for me personally" when he claims that something is the best. Dude meant best as in objectively the best - without even having tried the other stuff. :dog:

There's just no sane way of defending that sort of ignorant bollox. ;-)
you don't need to buy or defend it, it's just about accepting the idea that there is nothing to "win" on such topic (or any other in fact)

the "best" is by essence a pure subjective "best for me" for anyone, without the need to tell it.

and it's also why all the topics from peoples asking "what is the best x or y ?" have none actual interest for the OP himself because no one can objectively tell what would be the best something for someone else.

What do you think guys, is it safe to think "version 2" is not on the horizon?
I don't want to be bound to a company that asks money for upgrade every year or so.

Post

Version 2 is already out. There will probably be a Version 3 next year.

If I remember correctly, there was a major difference between Version 1 and Version 2.
They literally developed a new set of plugins with improved sound etc.
But now, what could they offer in Version 3? Plugins are already native and resizable...

Realistically More old plug-ins that will run natively, hypothetical there is a possibility to innovation. Rare but it’s existent.

Sorry, we might be talking about different things. I'm saying they are already "a company that asks money for upgrade every year or so", which you can see with the Signature and Ultimate bundles. On a positive note, you get a lot of new plugins with these upgrade charges.

I'm talking about of a new version of the same plugin with improved functionality.
