Buy UCE. Don't upgrade it until you use up all the content. You will never upgrade.

it is a new product and a lot of people bought the upgrade recently, they don't want to piss everyone off who already bought.superscan wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 2:28 am Why are Native Instruments not discounting upgrades of Komplete 15? Seems criminal that a new user can get 50% off but updates and upgrades are still normal price. I realize they used to wait until the following spring/summer for new version of Komplete discounts, but what gives here? Would be an instant-buy!

I am in this situation still stuck on CE12 but I think I will jump on the CE15 when the upgrades get discounted. 3 versions worth of stuff plus new Kontakt is a good upgrade.Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 5:07 am Buy UCE. Don't upgrade it until you use up all the content. You will never upgrade.

I do not think this is the reason as what you said could be said about the people who paid full price recently too. They will offer the upgrade discounts during Summer of Sound most probably. Even if they were not following a schedule, they try to maximise what they can get first.ATS wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 5:53 amit is a new product and a lot of people bought the upgrade recently, they don't want to piss everyone off who already bought.superscan wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 2:28 am Why are Native Instruments not discounting upgrades of Komplete 15? This thing that people get pissed off with a price reduction is one of the most childish things ever, as if they did not get advantage of price reductions on other products themselves

Or don't buy it at all. I often wonder if anyone uses 10% of what's in there unless you have Maschine.Uncle E wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 5:07 am Buy UCE. Don't upgrade it until you use up all the content. You will never upgrade.
Then there's drive space. Drive space is cheap until you have to buy it.
I keep telling myself this every time a Komplete comes out but I have yet to follow up on that.

They also made an earlier fatal business blunder when they discontinued Kore to focus on Maschine only. Over time they developed NKS which in some ways is similar to Kore (not sure if any Kore codebase is in there), but they have never created a piece of hardware like the Kore controllers that is independent of their keyboard controllers. People here have told me that NKS is still buggy, so I have avoided the keyboard controllers. Pluginguru’s Unify has much similarity with the Kore software, works for me, and they have excellent product support. I own a license for that.Harry_HH wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 4:24 amNI made a fatal business blunder whem they gave up developing /selling only their own products but stated to add all kind of stuff to their bundles (Komplete) which their core customers already owned, i.e. overlapping products. LOL, okay nearly fatal as a company. I almost stopped buying from NI when they killed Kore. Definitely fatal as far as killing their image as an innovative company and losing Stephan Schmitt. I don't have a magic portal that lets me view their balance sheet.
