Greeting sample lovers. TX16Wx 3.7 is now official. The main highlight is native Linux (x64) support, but several small fixes and enhancements are also included.

Note that this release updates VST3 support to SDK 3.7 level, which means VST3 version is now packaged as a bundle on all platforms.

"Dependency is not satisfiable: libglib2.0-0(2.16.0)" - on Linux Mint 22. I checked the libglib2 version installed on my computer and is the 2.80 version (latest). I tried to install using the .deb installer.

Odd, I had no issues installing on LinuxMint 21.3 with libglib2.0-0 (2.72.4)

Which edition of Mint are you using? Other packages installed?
Vanilla (cinnamon really :-) ) Mint works fine for me.

Well, Mint 22 with libglib2 2.80 (nothing changed from vanilla install) satisfies libglib2 >= 2.16 for me at least (as it should). Send me an `apt list` output and I can maybe try to figure out where your conflict comes from.
Do you have ardour installed? Did you try to install TX within its altered LD path? (It packages its own versions of various libs).
Also, apt-get --fix-broken install might be your friend here.

Question: tx16wx should be able to import rex/rex2 files, as stated in the description on the website, does it also support this format in Linux? I'm asking because I know that the REX shared library is not available in Linux...

Thanks,
Mario

Post

No, REX1/REX2 is dependent on the library from propellerheads (the format is propriety), so not available on Linux. Sorry.

Maybe that needs to be stated on the website. :)

Yep, also Linux support is not referred extensively, in many places only MacOS and Windows are still mentioned on the website.
