Well, Pianoteq still sounds too plastic to me and that's not just my opinion, but I like the morphing feature to create "strange" sounding instruments.
I don't record classical or piano only music...

My aunt had a Blüthner Grand piano, at school we had a Bechstein and at home some Upright made in London, you are right, I don't know pianos haha
And some neigbour even showed me how to tune pianos, but I am not good at it, I also dislike changing guitar strings and use them as long as possible.
Sound as long as it's not awful is not so important, it is always the song.
If your main focus is on achieving a polished mix then the result is what is today and Spotify has hundred thousands of embarrassing examples.
Of course I know that generation z thinks that Mickey Mouse voice is real just as they think most modern music production have talented real vocals altough it's autotune or ai.

Physical modeling technique simply creates awful plugin instruments and I can tell it by playing them and using my ears.

I would say Diva fits into both.
On one hand, overrated: no matter how "analog" it may sound, once it's mixed in a track, it's not going to be exceptionally distinguishable from other synths.
On the other hand, underrated: people are always chasing the new thing and want new synths to sound one way or emulate an old filter or oscillator, but chances are you can already make the sound you want in Diva, and it will sound great.

Underrated: the Kilohearts snapin system for custom FX chains. It can do pretty much anything.

gear is over-hyped, musicianship is underrated. trust me, my aunt had a piano so i'm kind of an expert on this.
