Now that Nexus is open to third party sound designers they should sell a Sound Designer's edition with no content and only the engine. This would encourage people to create extensions for it which will benefit ReFX in selling more Nexus copies.

As a sound designer it always bothers me having to pay for content I will never use (eg Omnisphere).

To be fair, it might be me being boneheaded not doing the correct way to load these samples, so wait atleast until we hear back from someone involved in its development.

Here is perhaps not a bug report but a feature request, to get the key from the filename. I explore this issue in this video.

If they want, they could do a 5-d chess move and allow content to be sold on there sold from 3rd party and collect 40% comission as reveal sound does. My 2c

I'm messing around with Nexus 5 and I often get that popup error either with my user presets or factory preset... and there is no more sound...



Also I get this red circle that is blinking....

I'm asking out of curiosity, if anyone has problems with CPU and RAM overload? because I have an i9 13900k, 64 GB DDR5 and I use windows 10, and before updating to Nexus 5, I didn't even realize I had a lot of Nexus 4.5 open, they didn't consume anything either as RAM or CPU, since I updated to Nexus 5 (also downloaded the latest version 5.1. 1) projects that had 15-20 Nexus 4.5 open before didn't consume anything, now it consumes 60% RAM and 30% CPU. and before it was 5-10% CPU and 20-30% RAM.

I'll start by saying that I updated to Nexus 5, both for the super potential finally as a sound designer and also because I've always been very happy with Nexus 4.5, everything opened in an instant and it was very fast to jot down quick ideas.

The sample content looks to be in 40GB - 50GB range, does anyone know if it's possible to store the sample content on an external drive? My internal drive is already pretty maxed out. Same. Presets seem to load just as fast off my external T7 SSD. You change the setting in the ReFX Cloud app.

Note that you don't have to install all presets. There is a minimal installation which include all Nexus 4 & 5 factory presets and a couple of expansions which I assume includes needed samples. I did the minimal install and then added rom extensions 2-4. That takes 22GB.

I haven't bought that package but to me this is clear that it is the 10 latests and that you can't choose what you want. They even list what you will get... NEXUS5 + 10 latest... afrobeats, edm9, edm 10 ....étchétérâaa !

Dragging in a second wave file shouldn't clear the slices you've already created. That's a bug, I'll get it fixed.

The reason slicing isn't working for you is that it wasn't design for drum loops, it's designed for people sampling synths where they record them playing up the keyboard. I will think about adding a drum slice mode.

Ah good to hear it's getting fixed.

And if you added a drum slicing algorithm, that'd be SO awesome and could open up even more possibilities, especially on the drum sequencing side.

How is there a way to assign my own name to the presets I'm making?

What is the best way to sell/share 3rd party banks so all the samples and wavetables are included?

I had a conversation with Michael by mail and had to apologize to him. He told me that the official sounddesigners also had more folders with files and no exporttool.

The fact that there will be an update in future is of course wonderful.
It would also be nice if we could somehow save our own icon.

I am having the exact same issue, but only with user presets. It might have to do with read/write permissions. But I'm not sure as I set the Users/Shard/ReFX folder to read and write for everyone.

I was able to load them once I think, but now I'm. unable to load them ever. This really looks like a permissions thing, but I don't see what else I have to allow.

It created this log upon trying to load a preset, but it doesn't seem very useful.
