No problem. I've seen it a few places, including some interviews, but this blog post has it: https://www.schwabedigital.com/sdblog/gc121 (https://www.schwabedigital.com/sdblog/gc121)DNAudio wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 4:55 pmWasn't aware of this, thanks!bjornist wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 4:22 pmJust want to add that Gold Clip does also use ADAA, as well. It's on the website and in marketing materials.DNAudio wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 12:25 am OP, if you're concerned about CPU usage, I do recommend apShaper instead of either as it uses a technique known as antiderivative anti-aliasing/ADAA which significantly reduces aliasing at a fraction of the processing cost.
Edit: I actually can't find this info anywhere. Quick Ctrl+F of the manual for ADAA or even just "Anti" doesn't yield results. Where did you find this info?

For some reason Gold Clip has a very high noise floor that increases based on the oversampling amount

At "high/" (2x) it goes down to -140db, but this is still higher than any other oversampling implementation I've seen. Perhaps it's an artefact of that "amplitude-modulated downsampling"?
I literally created an iLok account for the first time ever for this because I was really interested in the anti-aliasing tech they used but it seems to have some major flaws at the moment.

Wow very interesting. I can't say I've come across any noise problems with it, but this is good to know. Probably worth reaching out to them about.DNAudio wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 9:57 pm For some reason Gold Clip has a very high noise floor that increases based on the oversampling amount

Did you compare them in a mix or master? Curious if you had an impression of the sound/workflow vs your other clippers.

Is there any chance that gold clip has dither implemented? Clippers are often last in the chain. If so it's probably something that can be turned off. I wouldn't worry about noise at that level provided everything else is doing what you want, but I guess if it's there for no reason then it probably shouldn't be. I can't imagine getting that hardcore for a clipper though. I just go with Gclip 99% of the time or a wave shaper if I need any kind of specialized transfer function. The free Melda Wave shaper has a freely modifiable transfer function graph that's scalable and zoomable along with adjustable oversampling.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Sonnox have machine ilok nowxerix wrote: Mon Dec 02, 2024 9:15 pm My favourites at this stage would be;
- standard clip
- sonnox inflator [although you need to be always connected to internet which is annoying]
- newfangled saturate
- NFuse [hybrid of neve & SSL Fusion]
- Pro L2
For individual channels strips these are good to use also;
- OTT
- UAD Oxide
- Decapitation
- Saturn 2
- JST Clip
Clearest out of all would have to be StandardClip. I have heard about flatline 2 & kclip 3 but can't imagine them being better than standard clip
