A synth with a fx version sounds good too, even better.

Is there a way to prevent this by avoiding something specific or is this random?

How hard is it to strip the GUI code and have a stable prototype?

I never really looked into JUCE but assume it helps with all this time consuming low level stuff. Can you use that and get things done faster?

I've already been doing that actually, so far only have done basic UIs.

Edit: Oh but it's not just about fixing the crash, I kinda wanted to redesign all the filters, simplify them by removing the chaos knob. So I really just want to start over... hmm, fixing the crash might be helpful to those who used it in the project, we'll see.

Yes the chaos knob is very cool, yes it literally adds chaos, not just randomness (except for the flower filter (clean/dirty) child uses noise because it sounds too good), but at the end of the day it's just cool, not practical. Ultimately more controls = more difficult / workflow killer. If I design the filters to sound good at their specific levels of chaos, you'll get a better sound more gauranteed and i can just split the filters into multiple versions instead of having a chaos knob.
