Zyklop plugin for Linux, and plugins/instruments installation for Tracktion Waveform sucks.

Have the Tracktion downloader for Waveform 13 Pro on Linux, Ubuntu 22.04. The 'downloader' downloads the software and the user has to manually install and update each plugin. There is no installer for plugins and that really sucks. What also sucks is that I have Zyklops and the 'downloader' says I have it in my downloads folder, but I do not see it anywhere. One of the issues with the way Tracktion Waveform does things is the downloader will call the program one name and the actual zip file you get will be named something else. This comes off as flippant on the side of the company. Anyone else have issues with installing Zyklops on Linux? Also, is there an easier, non-painful way to deal with TW virtual instruments, libraries and such? I run several DAWs and NLE's on Linux, and TW has about the worst implementation for libraries and plugins.

Zyklop is a Dawesome Synth... AFAIK... only for macOS and Windows...
I'm running it on Linux tho... via Wine and Yabridge.
Of course... you have to manually install most of the things in Linux... I'm ok with that.

@dajonaga
Thanks for the response. Well, what you wrote makes sense. Tracktion makes a marketing point about how their program works on Linux and you expect the rest of their offerings to do so as well. But greater care by TW is placed on OSX and Windows versions than Linux. I also run Harrison Mixbus (for instance) and though they have issues on some things, installing their program and attendant plugins are a breeze with their nice installers. It's a shame, pro studios use Linux, it's a forward direction to go. I would rather not muck around with compatibility layers though. Caveat Emptor, buyer beware, though Zyklops was free--won't be getting Myth (what Zyklops is based on) any time soon. Thanks again.

Traction is a company that markets that it runs on Linux and other software synth plugins, like Biotek, do happen to also run on said operating system. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to expect others to work as well. It's a shame that Myth-based ones do not and I will not be buying their wares.Though since we are on the topic, companies like U-He make cross platform virtual synth plugins that are not too shabby. Traction might find other virtual synth devs willing to have their wares run on Linux.

I hear you fathomstory, and I also wish Tracktion would make clearer what they develop in-house and what they are a publisher for.
As far as I know, Hyperion, all Dawesome wares, Horizen, Modeler, Spacecraft and Waverazor are all third parties that Tracktion acts as a publisher for.
I also watch for software that runs on all 3 most popular platforms, Windows, macOS and Linux. The later being my go-to operating system.
Tracktion, AudioThing, U-He and Bitwig are at the top on my fav list.

While I use DAW's like Ardour, Reaper, and Mixbus on Linux, it is usually for audio podcast / video post. Music production is an area that is new to me. Tracktion Waveform already has a lot of instruments on Linux that ought to keep me busy for a while. If I need more, there are other instrument plugins made for Linux. I was just trying for stuff TW advertised that looked interesting. Bitwig is a bit too rich for my blood and am not into supporting German companies at the moment. Like you, while I have access to all three major software platforms, I prefer to reside in Linux. That said, Cardinal, Bespoke and VCV seem to be making interesting virtual synths for Linux...and also want to use Supercollider at some point...

I just had a conversation with Tracktion support Bot:
"Thank you for pointing this out. Currently, Zyklop is officially available only as VST3 and AU plugins for Windows and macOS. There is no native Linux version provided at this time.
If you see a Linux download link on the Zyklop page, it may be an error or a placeholder, as the plugin does not have official Linux support. For Linux users, the recommended workaround is to try running the Windows version through compatibility layers like Wine, but this is not officially supported."
Wonderful :\
