Cubase or Logic would be ones I would look at first.

I already have Logic and have been a Cubase user for years. So I might be a tad biased ;)

Cubase for me as that's what I've used for 30+ years. Had I been starting 100% from scratch it would still be Cubase.

Ironically, I used to start out buying the "pro" versions of DAWs with every bell and whistle included. Eventually, I found them to be counterintuitive and more distraction than they're worth. And equally found I'm much more productive and relaxed using their entry level or one version up from it. Plus, once they do something completely unforgivable, I can move on feeling I got more out of it than it did out of me.
The metaphor I use is that a DAW is a mule and my plugins are the tack I use to ride it. The mule may die, and while the tack can wear out, the tack can be used on more than one animal.

Cubase have become very much what I want and need in a DAW. These last few upgrades have been excellent for me. So I wouldn't change to another one no matter how much money I had.

Digital Performer 11

if money is no object then I would get current on all the DAWs I have
upgrade Ableton Live to 12 cause old version I have doesn't rnac on new Mac OS or Win 10
upgrade Reason to 13 - just cause
upgrade FL Studio to max so get newer instruments
upgrade Cubase so I didn't have to still use my dongle

pretty happy with Logic 11.1 and FL Studio n old mac i9 macbook pro, but it would be nice to be mac/windows again and not just stuck on macbook pro.

Same one I'm using now. No money needed.
How original

Same answer now minus Nuendo.
Reaper and Ableton Live 9 (maybe someday i'll upgrade AL9 so i can use VST 3). AL9 works fine on windoze 10 btw.
I'm not a "power user" of DAW. Reaper fits the bill, i'd take the 1,000 and buy other things.

The same what I have now! Maybe buying a faster PC or Mac if money is no issue, but the software are the same.
Most essential is Cubase on PC, Logic on Mac. AB Live is a good alternative on both platforms and Reaper for testing. Probably Cubase on a PC is the most important for me :)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

What is money?

Bitwig or Studio One

Bitwig with 20 years of upgrade.

I'd pay Elon Musk to build me Space Daw (tm), take it to Mars & remotely broadcast my productions omnidirectionally out to the known audible universe. Hopefully an intergallactic rave would start up, but who knows.

Money is overreated.

Just stay away for Steinberg Nuendo and Magix Sequoia and you should be fine with anything.
- these are silly expensive

If you need those features, I feel for you....
