The return of the v4 and before plugin browser. An analyzer with spectrum and other metering in a window on the side or bottom. Bit like minimeters or something.
Maybe a a way to make your own interface for grid plugins. And some more pitch correction transpose options
Further i dont need anything else. best daw there is for me.

There are plugins, especially AUv3, that only exist in that format. I would not prefer AU over VST or CLAP. But I could load those plugins that do not come as VST…kinkajou wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 7:50 amSerious question: what's the real benefit of AU on Mac?
I'm totally new to the Mac ecosystem and use VST3 or CLAP wherever it's possible. I was always under the impression that AU most beneficial usage is in Logic and for all other DAWs it's more or less a combatibility thingy...![]()
Or is there actually a remarkable difference and it's better to use AU whenever it's possible?
On the other hand I would actually prefer to have a wrapper that creates a CLAP version out of any AU plugin…
At the moment I can load AU plugins into Voltage Modular, which opens other areas as well…

And auv3 is also compatible iOS.Tj Shredder wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:58 amThere are plugins, especially AUv3, that only exist in that format. I would not prefer AU over VST or CLAP. I am an android guy but I bought an iPad just to sketch some music on the go. Twin3, synthmaster 2, Moog aynths, fabfilter effects, quite fun.

Fortunately the Moog synths exist also as VST3. They wrapped their AUv3 versions… But yes, I want those iOS versions running in Bitwig…

Another silly question... is it possible then to simply copy the iOS version onto the mac and use it there without installing?

I wish I could map plugin controls to some kind of control surface inside the device chain, so I never have to open floating windows of VST plugins and can instead build my own interfaces. This is partially possible using macros and modulators (knobs and buttons). The only thing missing from the puzzle is a multi-choice control with an adjustable number of selectable values (for example, to choose the waveform of an oscillator), as well as an option to prevent plugin windows from appearing when loading them into the device chain.
And of course big hate towards 5.0 browser

Those iOS apps and plugins, that can be used on a M1/2/3/4 Mac will show up in the appstore as downloadable as you bought them already for your iOS device. They will run in Logic, Mainstage or any host that supports AUv3...kinkajou wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 1:17 pmThank you for the explanation!Tj Shredder wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 11:58 am There are plugins, especially AUv3, that only exist in that format. Stability of those is another story. Some are not that stable...

Boom another free sound package released....
I remember the debates when the premium packages were released and some persons swearing to any "fanboys arround" that it was the end of free sound packages...
Lol

I would like to see a light theme and some love and a few useful tools for film music such as beat mapping and video engine.

Unfortunately there are loads of plugins that do not expose all their controls to the DAW, so that would solve your problem only partially.Maykie wrote: Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:28 pm I wish I could map plugin controls to some kind of control surface inside the device chain, so I never have to open floating windows of VST plugins and can instead build my own interfaces. I hope Bitwig add some alternative themes, and perhaps customisation of the colours. Just to stop how many people ask about, but whatever option they choose on this it'll never be right. Everyone has their own opinions on UI never possible to get a consensus.iNNeRNoiZe wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2024 4:54 pm I would like to see a light theme and some love and a few useful tools for film music such as beat mapping and video engine.
I expect a video option is way down the list, but can't you get a VST that can do this?
Seems like some arranger tools will be coming, which will quite happy about. Let's see what they bring.

If they don´t bring a better PR editor with the missing parts like scale highlight and lock/fold to scale and something which this time works in terms of default zoom etc...it will be the end for Bitwig and me!_leras wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 7:40 pm ...

This next update is the last chance I´ll give Bitwig... if there are no dedicated improvements to catch up with the rest of the industry and again just some lame CPU hog devices, I´ll be done with them!

But you know, if you think it's that close to you switching to another DAW, then maybe you should.
If you chose Ableton or Cubase, it'll be interesting to see all the things you think are not great, or missing from those.
