If you're travelling so much you should try a VPN and then you can look as if you're in the UK still.

They enforced two factor authentication. But I no longer have british phone number. I can’t log in.

Hungarian phone number has changed, because the previous one expired. The government expects you to confirm your identity every year and I didn’t get the alert on time. I have a new phone number now but they locked me out of my paypal.

You will not understand until you start travelling, I can’t live my job and go around the world because my account is blocked. I can only go on leave twice a year and when I’m on leave I spend most time with my daughter.

Exactly that is a standard feature for years, you can directly pay with a credit card and that is clearly displayed by Paypal, i will add some additional info to clear that up once and for all :hihi:
Any chance you will be adding a clap version at any time?
Mac mini m4 pro, Reaper, too many plugins, Modal Argon8, Novation Circuit Mono Station and now a lovely Waldorf Blofeld.

FTsounds wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 7:47 am I have a couple of questions if you don't mind.

What's the copy protection? Do i need an internet access to activate the plugin?

This and future versions will load projects made with previous ones (like Melda), or every version is like a different plugin? (like Fabfilter)
The copy protection is simple: it uses AI to track your usage, playing style & all and log all that into an online profile, if you play un-funky music or don't use the synth enough it might misbehave and self generates bugs in the DSP code by randomly inverting binaries. :hihi:
...It's key based, no "regular" or intrusive online checks, user and pirate friendly.

It depends on plug-ins for some I maintained state compatibility with previous version but it is not always possible, nowadays I try to keep presets compatibility vs state an do "like Fabfilter". That way you are 100% sure that any past project will not be broken.

User friendly copy protection puts it on my radar. Is the current price a sale or regular price? Is there VAT included?

Any opinions on this vs GForce OB-X or even OB-E?

Post

It's a different beastie altogether, albeit capable of covering the same sonic territory. It has a lot more mongrel in it than any other Obie emulation.

More 'mongrel' is welcome as i have no shortage of tame sounding synths.

How's the CPU consumption?

The price is low always, it's a one man operation and he's not even shy about posting here as you can see. It immediately became a top ten plugin here, and I own 500+ VSTs.

How does it compare soundwise to GFforce OB-X and OPX Pro and similar plugins in your opinion?

Purchased 24k of plugins in latest two years and lost a lot of legit licenses due to FK online check machine number, mutable UUID (I love ILOK licenses lately, because they are safer). So tired of this situation. From now I will purchase only software with no online activation with simple activation and ILOK one. So I've just purchased the synth as soon as I've read what You say about the activation. Really nice job:-) and philosophy.

I just picked this up, wanted to show support. I’m curious though, I don’t have many presets in the V3 folder , is there something I’m missing ?

I'm a big fan of the Gforce stuff. They already have great sounding presets. So in that sense, the Gforce stuff is already pretty great, but the raw power of the AlyJames stuff is definitely different. Sounds more true to the source. The Presets aren't very great out of the box,but if you make your own sounds, then it's not a problem.
The good thing is AlyJames is working on a preset converter that will allow us to have access to all of the OBX patches ever made in an upcoming update :tu:

Thanks. Sounds interesting. It would be nice to have a comparison between this and OB-X demonstrating the differences.

Starsky Carr is usually doing comparisons between different emulations, and also against the original if possible. Have a look here in the coming weeks, months...
