I predict that Native Instruments will release the "We Really Kompletely Care and This Time We Mean It" package that will provide all current and future NI instruments and upgrades for an annual subscription fee something around two hundred thousand Euros.

As long as it's really a new synth and not simply another minor stage of evolution in the ever-more-bloated ROMpler species.bmanic wrote:It's about time roland made a new synth.
Isn't Roland now considered the Japanese word for ROMpler?

I think it makes sense for Roland to release a keyboard that integrates totally with PC/MAC.
Musicians need controllers to play in the studio and live. A controller that could integrate with a computer and have it's own on board synth/sounds is the best of both worlds.
Also, an onboard mixer and audio in/outs are very useful. Especialy if it's FW800. I'd like to have more of an instrument than just a mouse and keyboard. So if Roland are developing anything close to the specs described at gear slutz then I think they are moving in the right direction.
And if they're not then I wonder what the future will be for non-integrating hardware systems?

I predict: Berhinger will announce some new product that is a direct rip-off (or patent infringement) of an existing successful item.
And all life's fears
Can invade my ears
I can handle it

If I were able to visit NAMM, I would certainly be wanting to check this out:
The closest thing to a new Sequential Circuits Prophet synth design.
It's supposed to make its official debut at this winter's NAMM show. I wish I could be there.
take care,
McLilith

There will be a new synth/workstation from Korg and if it is what some things suggest it is, seriously big news...
