Any rumours of MPE instruments/rack from Reason?Jac459 wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 2:48 pmObjekt for 38 quid is worth it. It is a great great synth. So I'll be an ex-user soon then - that's something for you to celebrate already.
By the way: I also tried the demo a few weeks ago. I don't like the browser and there aren't enough really new DAW and Rack functions for me. I don't think it's a good update.
That said- Objekt is on sale for 38 quid, that more tempting as I pretty much just use Reason as a Rack now-a-days (Edit- just noted its not MPE so I wont bother. PM really shines with MPE and I have an Osmose so I will skip it...no money for Reason from me this year even in the sales)
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

So.
Because I am dead stupid. And because I had a shitty day.
I told myself. Let's treat myself with upgrade to 13.1. It is 79usd "only" now...
Oh my... It is not for RRP users... I can't comment for the sequencer part. But I don't see anything I will use here.
I mean Polytone is disappointing. There is nothing much that can be done with it... Modulations capacity are so slim... Not even a mod matrix. Filters sound dull as f**k. No unison...
Can't believe v11 has Europa and Grains and V13 has .... f**king Polytone...
And I will pass on the delay... Don't even have the energy to comment...
And the general feel with the UI is... Meh... Preferred Before.

I think there was an interview with Mattias where he said MPE won’t be happening any time soon but I forget where. I received a promotion. Upgrade is 79 for me.
Guys, I have one simple question. This is a genuine question, not a gaslighting attempt. I haven't been following Reason development for almost a year.
Can I use MIDI plugins in Reason now? That was not the case before. Like, imagine some VST sequencer or ARP routed to your Subtractor for example. Previously I remember this was not possible. I could load the VST3 plugin that produces MIDI but nothing was happening.
Did they do it now? This wasn't a new request either. I saw countless people at ReasonTalk asking about it so it definitely wasn't a thing back then.
Again: this is not a trolling attempt. Do not tell me "You can use RE's for that they have similar capabilities" and I am not interested in loopback virtual MIDI nonsense workouts either, I am just interested can I use VST MIDI plugins in Reason 13 now.
Yes or no?
And even if it is no I am not going to make a fuss about it. I just need an honest answer about it. Trying to run their Trials is mission impossible for me hence my question.

I'll give he demo a try, since the upgrade price is pretty 'reasonable'. Tho lately, I've been thinking to cut reason usage down to the plugin and players, getting rid of everything else I can...
Even then, I barely use the plugin at all these days, pretty close to writing it off entirely...

I really like Reason but the 13 update is a stinker even with the new Players in 13.1. Hopefully I can come back at 14 when they allow you to dock the browser and have MIDI VST routing!

No idea but if you don't have reason and plan to use it as DAW, just don't.kmonkey wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 10:27 pm I received a promotion. Upgrade is 79 for me.

Same here. When I bought the v13 upgrade yesterday, I thought that behind the features presentation I saw (that was very very slim) there was more to it like a refined interface, or some hidden nice cool stuffs. But no. It isn't.pekbro wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 11:31 pm ...

The only feel is nostalgy because v13 feel old, obsolete, deprecated. Polytone could have been created in 2005 (it would probably not have been successful even there).
I am generally the one qualified of "fanboy" in this forum because I generally defend the developers. And I try to look at it from an open mind perspective. But v13 is shit. It only shows how reason has come down. It is painful to see.
