How’s the CPU? Better than IK Tape Machines?
Didn't remember to compare. But at 386khz and the "render" quality setting the plugin itself reported 26% cpu use, which I assume is single core use. Mac M1 is my CPU.

Only until WUP is required.

Not sure if I need more tape, but after a quick demo it sure sounds like another FX winner from Arturia.

The tape stop effect is automatable in Cubase. Neat.

I wish it had a level control to adjust just how much of the effect bleeds through though.

Now they want another 50 bucks for a single plugin. hmm...
Indeed a nonsense and they will release a FX Collection VI in January for what.. €149 ?

This has got to be one of the most impressive tape plugins out there. It's super flexible too. Love the "modern" button that removes the EQ colouring of the machine itself.
Luckily this is too $$$ to just buy, and I don't really need more tape. My goto is UAD oxide.

However I think I'll definitely have to give this a try. Just to give it a quick comparison. That's a pretty compelling review.

wish it would be the one that wasn't emulated previously this time though
At the moment they have the lofi MELLO-FI and the multi-track 7.5/15 ips J-37, so a 30 ips mastering tape machine would make sense. Maybe they can do a different brand than usual like Otari?

IK Tape Machines run at 384 internal samplerate as well. The difference is you can’t change it to a more economical samplerate.

It would be good to know the CPU usage of J37 Tape at 192kHz.

The default preset at 192khz using "Render Quality" (i.e. oversampled) reports 13-14%. Studio quality (confusing "Studio Quality" is no oversampling) it's 8%. This is the CPU meter in the plugin itself.

At 44.1khz it's 9% using Render Quality and 3% using Studio Quality.

This is on an AMD 3950X.
