Issue: cpu sits on 7 percent just to have this Waveform beta open (no projects loaded)
Solution: Settings/Advanced/Performance/GUI Rendering Mode, choose Direct2D

Was scratching my head for a minute there....

net zero only for software rendering. Direct2d feels better, but I don't rule out that I can be deceived, but the samples going off the screen still don't immediately appear, there is a gap when they are visually absent from the screen, even if you just increase and slowly decrease the vertical size of the tracks, mp3 is still dancing a Lambada when horizontally approached.
Well, now it shows emoticons in the names. Apparently they switched to a new engine. I would like to hear from FigBug now about the implementation of Clap, if there is a chance up to the 14th version

If you browse through this forum then you will find out that Tracktion Waveform development is making use of the JUCE programming environment, and JUCE does not support CLAP by now, as far as I know. I don't believe that CLAP support would appear in Waveform while it is still not offered by the JUCE framework.

I ditched this beta and reinstalled a usable version. That's my 2 cents worth of feedback lol

From what? There are 3 modes that I can see.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I've been using Open GL, but I think Juce may be switching to Direct2D. I tried all three but with the beta my gpu was working approx 3 times higher than normal, cpu usage was higher than normal, 96k sample rate was unusable, I was getting a lot of audio glitches and freezes, and mouse wheel behaviour was temperamental at times.
Teething problems.....I hope!

damn, that's right, I got it wrong, Anthony officially announced the introduction of clap at 9 juce, and we just switched to 8

It seems to me that the function to reset all muted/soloed and isolated tracks does not work in the current beta version.

Did Tracktion make any official mention of this beta release? If so, I haven't seen it. I think it's a good idea that they release the beta to the users but they might get more input if they made an official statement and started a thread that they were actively involved in. It would certainly help squash any bugs and make for a more stable release for us.

What is the official process to report WaveForm bugs to Tracktion?

*sigh* I was hoping this might be a fix for a problem I've been having for several years now, but no luck. Certain VST3 plugins, when they receive any kind of CC data, will have the first exposed automation parameter change. For example, all three Boz Digital percussion plugins (Das Boot, El Clapo, and Le Snapet) will shut off with every loop because looping sends CC64 and CC66 values of zero and any CC data affects the first parameter: Enable Plugin.

Much worse is Voxengo's EBusLim, which I like to add to every project to start so that nothing gets too loud. However, the first parameter is Input/Threshold and setting it to the minimum means every sound becomes the loudest sound. That was a shock the first time it happened.

The VST2 versions of these plugins don't have a problem. I think it also showed up in Reaper around the same time, but they fixed it pretty quickly. They probably have more users, more vocal users, and more users with a wide range of plugins.

I guess the biggest problem is that I seem to be the only person on the whole planet who's experiencing this.
