I dusted of W13 (I switched to S1 Pro as of W10 but support the company). I'm rusty on using it.
First, it's still silly I can't send to a specific MIDI channel but have to use the Waveform MIDI patchbay to disable all channels except the right one.
Second, oddly, I can successfully route MIDI to 2 synths via my MioXM (DIN1 all channels and DIN4 channel 2 out) with different MIDI channels, but not 2 others (also on DIN4, being MIDI channels 4 and 5).
I know they're set up properly - I've cross-checked with S1, and if I trigger them in S1 the audio shows as active in W13. It's just that the MIDI seems to not reach those two synths in W13. They work perfectly in S1.

Seems it's time to let W13 continue collecting dust. Maybe Waveform14 will work better.

it's not very clear what's wrong with you, the keys or synthesizers, the only thing that's clear is that the midi channels don't work with a simple connection.
Have you looked in the MIDI Devices settings?
Well, as a last resort, it is always possible to insert a RACK and manually direct any channels to any channels.
Sometimes it's even interesting.

Ah the rack. Thanks for that suggestion. I'll have to give that a try.Maarid wrote: Sun Dec 22, 2024 5:15 pm it's not very clear what's wrong with you, the keys or synthesizers, the only thing that's clear is that the midi channels don't work with a simple connection.

EDIT: so it seems for some reason W13 is trying to send MIDI to a particular channel (2) - still trying to figure out why - but I can remap it to the right channel to trigger the actual synth using the MIDI Patchbay plugin. Seems that since the MIDI controller requires a channel that that's what it's using even though S1 doesn't have that issue.

I think if you check - the midi channel, by default, is in each CLIP's properties, not in track properties.
Patchbay will override that of course, but clip is where it's defined.

It was that the MIDI controller requires a MIDI channel be selected for it (it's set to MIDI ch2). In S1 it doesn't matter because it's easy to route MIDI channels and pretty much ignore that. Waveform not so much - I just had to map ch2 to ch5 or whatever the correct one is for the hardware).Peter Widdicombe wrote: Fri Dec 27, 2024 4:51 pm I think if you check - the midi channel, by default, is in each CLIP's properties, not in track properties.
