Can't read through 20 pages :3 Is the sound the same? They truly don't make them like they used to anymore, the cream filter is very specific sounding. sure Pigments and co are greate, but those old vsts have a tone you just can't get so easily with modern plugs. Would be so cool if Rob could bring the other Linplug VSTs also into the VST3 era.

docbot: I can assure you that Rob will not release the other VSTs from LinPlug. I was a little bit involved in the process of making it working and i'm one of the few guys, who have contact to Peter/LinPlug!

And about Albino, sure, it's the same code so it should be sound the same like the original.

Thanks for the info. Well than hopefully LinPlug will maybe do it themselves, although unlikely. I generally feel there should be a bigger spotlight on archiving and preserving virtual instruments, software and data can be more fragile than real world objects and they definitely deserve to be treated the same as old analog synths imo.

It's of course a good idea to archive software instruments because there are a lot of good instruments around and sometimes, the companys, like LinPlug, closed the doors...

And talking about LinPlug, Peter and his whole crew stopped developing completely some years ago, he isn't working in the music and coding business anymore so i'm sure, there will be never release something again.

It has been mentioned already, but I would hope he could open source the code so his products would be like e.g. Surge.

I liked CrX4 also.

That sucks because I still beat myself up for not purchasing a copy of Spectral before he shut down the business. I am on Windows too, so it probably would have run for years without any maintenance on my end.

I wonder if he would be willingly to sell a license with no promise of support right now.

Geez, long time since any posts....

When choosing a digital oscillator I remember being frustrated having to right click, scroll, select, until one person told me a way to instantly scroll through them but I can't recall how.

Obviously I've tried up/down/left/right etc. Have also RTFM and nothing.

Any ideas?

Haha, both these things have been annoying me lately as well.

First of all, I can only think of one other developer that are bridging their plugins from VST3 to VST2, and this annoys me to h*ll. Just get rid of the legacy VST2 completely. The other one is Tone2 btw.

And...even though Albino is offering different GUI sizes, it's like watching an VHS movie compared to, for instance, Predator 3.

I think VST2 should still exist for at least one reason. In Bitwig, when I duplicate Icarus tracks after a certain number of instances, it will go back to the default patch. This only happens with the VST3 version and not VST2.

Don't ever believe anything AI tells you. It's quite possible to wrap from any format to any other format. I want to say there's a Windows one running around, but it's called like vst2 to vst3 wrapper, so not fun to search for.
