For people with tight budgets, we are also going to soonishly publish a beta of TyrellN6 with reworked presets and all the latest underlying tech. There's one more technical issue to tackle for me which I hope I'll get done before the holidays.

Excellent news. I hope you also will continue maintaining the CM synths in the future.

Hi Urs can you give us more info about the underlying tech as Tyrelln6 was quite a wholesome complete synth in its own right, just needed a decent reverb i think?

Underlying tech means proper VST3 support, VST2 to VST3 migration, fewer bugs, better UI scaling and whatever else we have done in the past 5-10 years… it's a lot...

Thank you for the info Urs!

The exchange rate at the shop is...uh...incredibly generous. It converts 27.30 Euros to $32.37 USD. The actual exchange rate puts it $28.77. The Euro hasn't been that strong against the dollar in at least 4 years.

I've enjoyed U-HE free synths for years. Especially Zebra CM
Today I finally became a paying customer, I just bought HIVE 2 ! 8)
Proud to support a company making such fabulous sounding plugins with an excellent GUI & UX :tu:

I looked around and found Gear4Music selling Diva for £105.

Bought it.

It's great

Zen World's tutorials are walking me through it.

His videos are really good as he's a sound designer, and has a good ear.

Happy ending :)

My only u-he instrument is Hive 2 - was hoping to add Bazille and Repro and some packs.

Still picking up sugar & spice for Hive, but dang.
Not to encourage money coming out of the U-he coffers, especially with the Digital River issues, but I also understand and sympathize with people being on a budget, so my advice is to keep an eye out for secondhand licenses if the price is truly a barrier.

There were a few big U-he sales in the last few years and I'm glad I was able to take part in some of them, but I don't regret a dime spent at U-he at full price either.
Thanks for that feedback.

I always see your posts when doing research. Regard you as a forum elder.

I think I am going to buy Bazille and Satin today and be happy with what I got for my money. No packs, unfortunately. Someday.

Don't think I will be buying secondhand - want to support the devs.

Cheers.

Yes, but afaik it does not have the full UI with tags and stuff yet.

People following our forum here might recall that we claimed distribution back from Amazona in order to keep up development, but with all that's going on we haven't managed to get to the beef of it. So what we want to do now is to release a beta version that at makes TyrellN6 usable again on current platforms. There won't be new features or UI yet.

Sounds like it won’t be part of the beta, but is mpe/clap in the plans as part of the eventual tech update? You did say “whatever else we did in the past 5-10 years!” ;)

We'll certainly do CLAP, as that comes "free" with a recompile. What isn't free are some of the advanced CLAP features and MPE. We'll do what we can, but our first prio is Z3 and Uhbik, and for TyrellN6 to have a working beta.

As I've said before, I think that if you spend the energy updating it with your new tech, including modern compatibility, new browser, clap, and MPE, I think you should charge a bit for it. Even if it's just a small amount like 29 or 39 usd. It would be the Gateway drug and I think it's worth it for the maintenance. I think it would do well!
