Outside of Harrison Mixbus, is there anything else like Luna?

Pro Tools according to others, I am in fact pleased with what Luna is and what it's about...

I mean the console workflow. That’s what is “unique” about Luna.

Right, we agree it is good.

Luna has a piano roll. It’s not my favorite implementation (to put it nicely) but it’s there.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be combative! I was just posting quickly in between things.

We definitely do agree (I've ready your earlier posts).

I know I cant change anyone's mind about what people think Luna should or shouldn't be. I do think there are things they've done very well but I think its a matter of understanding it starts with a very, very, specific workflow. That workflow is what sets Luna apart.

Is that for everyone? No. Not even for me... I still prefer mixing in Ableton, even though it lacks many dedicated mixing features.

:hihi: I haven't even gotten there in Luna.

It's been strictly audio, but mostly just demo sets and a MG's What's Going On to play around with. Mixing in Luna for fun.

I would have made the workflow like Ableton, or Bitwig......I mean, people aren't going to cry about speed and ease of use. They sure are crying about Luna's workflow now right? Well......don't be like Pro Tools. Take the good things about Pro Tools, leave the bad.
Workflow is pretty good for who Luna is targeting (mixing/mastering). It's good at what it does.

I'm a music prodcuer, and Luna is good at what it does. It's my favorite DAW to mix on for mixing/mastering. Spark is the best sub out. If your expecting Ableton/FL Studio and features that target for music production/Live Remixing that's not what it's intended for. Of course you can you use it for however you see fit's.

I tried Harrison. Workflow, and UAD plugins and it's integration with it are top notch.

Cmon... You need to expand on that...!

Is it because of the summing engines available? Because UAD plug ins?
Yes, the plugins. When you have the Luna Pro Bundle, everything gets loaded up automatically:

Studer A800
API Vision
API Summing
Ampex ATR-102
API 2500
I really believe as Luna grow's (especially PC market) this will be the best sub, and DAW for mixing/mastering.

again: it can't even deal with stereo FX on mono sources, which is really as basic a requirement as it gets - so I find it really weird to see people claiming it's (any) good for mixing. I guess it depends on how minimal your requirements are, right?

Again: the solution is to drag the audio on to a stereo track. I get that it's dumb but that's about as minor as an inconvenience can be.

btw, the MIDI FX that I couldn't remember earlier that solves many of Luna's MIDI shortcomings is Grooveliner. It's currently on sale for $31.20:

I'm sorry but I highly doubt it is anywhere near the tool set for dedicated mastering.

i.e. The recent incarnations of Wavelab is really set up very well for managing complete mastering projects. It has so many mastering specific features and tools, that honestly no non mastering specific software gets close.

A mixing desk based approach definitely not going be great for the mastering, which requires a quite different tool set.
