I am surprised so many T users also own audition! It makes me happy because I started with cooledit -> audition -> and now T1. soon T2. hehe. But I really am surprised and I'm glad that its being hailed as a great program. So many people have tried to talk me down on using audition, and that its redundant to own both tracktion and audition, but i totally disagree. What do you use audition for with tracktion? do you master and mix things with it like I do? Do you still use multitrack mode?

Basically, if I hadn't found Tracktion I'd be using Audition for multi tracking. I loved Cool Edit because it had a simple interface, good FX plus a passable multi track mode if I ever needed it. The only real letdown was lack of VST support, but now that it has that and improved multi tracking it's a solid editor.
I use it to tweak and master all audio. I use tghe Ozone mastering plugin because it sounds clear and quite warm. My mastering method is very simple really.
I do any fades that need to be done in AA, use the scientific filter to take out the subharmonics that kill amplifiers (which makes the whole mnix sound slightly cleaner) and then I run it through Ozone and finally normalise it and save. No fuss. And even though it's not professional, it delivers good results mostly.
But the most important facet of the final mastering is making sure you have a good final mix.
I used to get really fussy with mastering. I constantly kept on going back and trying different plugins and methods and finally I realised it as slowing me down. I'm not an engineer...so why act like a hack? I needed to find the best sounding and most simple solution for me that I could use on any mix and an all in one plug like Ozone provides that solution.

yea i did read a post from ron saying AA was rubish?
why the chainge in hert? AA is pukker for alot of things it has alot of headroom aswell wen i use logic i bounce the sep outs & load in to AA for the final mix then back in again 4 mastering only a nutter or half baked music maker would have doubted it in the first placeImage

I never said it was rubbish, i said that i was slightly disappointed with the adobe upgrade, and it felt like stuff wasnt working well, i always seem to run into the bugs before anything else... I was talking to a certain "pro" named Robert Rudolph who uses saw studio and was really downtalking technically all the software I use, and thats what motivated me to say the things I said, but now robert has disowned me and doesnt talk to me anymore because he was really putting me down a lot and I said things I shouldnt have.

anyways hahah

I am glad that people here use audition. I legally own T1 and Audition and im glad that others do.

wait tell me more i guess everyone here doesnt like him hahaah i dont now either hes a total prick, i think he was actually trying to sell me saw studio, maybe thats why he dissed everything. He said final mix was coded wrong and thats why they gave it away for free and that it's phasing is way off or something

Wasn't that RR a man, who changed numerous setups in a few months' time to discover a sonical (?) uebersetup - only to find out he's got nothing to do with it?

i'm not saying that you've said audition is rubbish, i'm saying that you've been using it as a negative argument to fuel your obscure groundhog lust. you have some f*d up views on mackie/tracktion and you don't have much consistency whatsoever.

T2!T2! i'm concerned the features are going to be rubbish. mackie are evil. T2! i'm excited! i love Tracktion! I love audition! I think adobe taking over Cool Edit was bad and the upgrade was rubbish! I love audition everyone should have it and tracktion! roll on T2!!!! woohoo! i'm excited! the features look rubbish and mackie have ruined it for all of us and bankrupted loads of companies!

Robert Randolph, eh?

Well that explains a little. :hihi:

Rob's OK, but even he'll admit he does go off the deep-end sometimes. ;)
