Not sure what I'm doing wrong here??
I'm using "Boom" 808 Vst drum machine. You programme 1 bar drum patterns which can then be triggered by a single midi note eg C3,C#3 etc. It all works fine in the aranger view. However, when triggering the patterns from 1 bar midi clips in the launcher, often the drum patterns won't change at the end of a bar, or else the start of the next pattern will be delayed by a few beats? The global quantize on the master track is 1 bar so I assume that clips are set to global quantize then as long as I trigger the next clip before the end of the current bar, It should start the next pattern on beat 1 of the next bar. Sometimes it will play for another bar before changing. Even in round robin mode it gets confused.

I think I've discovered what's causing this problem. The programmed patterns in Boom (or any other drum machine such as groove agent) are launched and continue to loop as long as they receive a midi note assigned to that pattern. when the "pattern trigger" notes are stored as midi clips in the launcher grid, they sometimes miss out the "midi note off" information when a different clip is launched. so the first drum pattern loops continuously.
Solution: Shorten the length of the midi trigger note (in the clip) by about 1/32 of a beat to ensure a midi note off signal is sent to the drum machine.
