Hanz Meyzer wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 9:02 am Congrats. I also think a lot of reviewers didn't even scratch the surface... For example nowhere are the shaping capabilites mentioned and tested in depth. I wish every synth had such a shaper module.
Thanks

Unfortunately, there's not much interest amount reviewer / youtubers / influencers to review SynthMaster 3. They don't even reply to our emails. That's really disappointing.
Well they’re the ones missing out on a great synth.

If SoundBytes magazine was still around it definitely would have been covered. SB has been gone for a while now sorry to say.

It seems that importing multi-velocity sample sets in SM3 is very problematic when using the "Automatic Import" algorithm. It (sometimes!) reads the root note correctly from the file name but it never reads the velocity correctly so it maps the samples completely wrong velocity-wise. I have a collection of various sample sets that I wanted to import into SM3. They use different naming protocol for the velocity. Some use terms like "v1, v2, v3, ..." in their name to indicate the velocity, others use "vl1, vl2, vl3,...", others use "low, medium, high", others "p, mp, mf, f..." but unfortunately SM3 doesn't recognize any of these, and, as I said, maps the samples completely random velocity-wise.
And with a lot of sample sets it also doesn't recognize the root note of the samples even though it is clearly stated in the file name and consequently it maps those samples all over the place.

TBH this review annoyed me a bit, seems like they didn't prepare for this at all, not even scratching the sureface then, and weird preset selection, too. What purpose have such videos for the consumers? They have a high visitor count though, but the quality of the actual video content... I would consider this trash :?

Sadly, this is how it works today... I had to comment many times on reviewers videos because getting to know a product you review while you're recording the video is very bad IMHO... Doesn't help at all understanding the real stuff; Basically, sometimes they don't even know what they're reviewing.

I am toying around with Synthmaster 3 about every day, and I found some bugs/glitches. What's the best place to post them?

Post

I see this video looking at the shaper..

Good day! I only live in Synthmaster 3 and no other is required! Thank you for your efforts! I noticed this problem in Reaper. If I put the synth in mono and set the slide, then when playing the midi, the first note plays with a slide. There is no such thing when playing on a midi keyboard.

Hi there

I am aware of this issue and hopefully fix it in the next update.

Well, to his credit, Cladio asked us for a meeting so that we could tell him which new features to emphasize. Other reviewers did NOT ask for anything, just RANDOMLY reviewed. I honestly don't like that approach at all.

Hi Bulent,
My User Area and checking from inside the plugin both show 3.0.9 as the newest for macOS, not 3.1.0. Do I need to do something special to get the 3.1.0 update?

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Isn't there a user manual for SM3? I see there's an entry in the main menu that says "SM3 user manual" but nothing happens when I click on it.

I'm trying to apply the RoundRobin feature to some samples but it's not working and I don't know if it's a bug or I'm not doing something right, that's why I need the manual.

SM3 can not parse velocity information from file names, such as v1 v2 v3 p mp mf f. It sorts them by rms level instead.

As for root notes: SM3 first looks at the WAV headers (smlp chunk). If root note is there, it is used. Otherwise, root note is parsed from file name. If you think this is not working, could you please send me some WAV files that fail? You can email me at bulentbiyikoglu AT kv331audio DOT com.
