It's by design, it stops you getting the same sample twice in a row when playing fast. Stops it from sounding robotic and fake.mynet wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 5:05 pm The random feature in sampling mode is broken.

Only when you play slow does it go random order.

I just bought Nexus 5 with a couple expansions, price went up fast (also, damn taxes!) but so far I'm having a blast! I was wondering about the retro skins. I've seen a couple of them for Nexus 2 and one thing I notice is they appear much "contrasty" in Nexus 5. Black skins are really black, like crushed. Same with other colors and white. Could this be a gamma thing? I know Windows and Mac don't have the same gamma level and I remember Urs from u-he talked about this when one person asked him why one of his synth was much darker on Windows.

I know. Thats not the problem. I want random order when playing fast to. I can see by your answer you didn’t understand the bug.
How can it behave differently when playing slow and fast notes?
There’s 0 logic and must be a mistake.
If I set it to random. I want random all the time.

Not random only when im playing slow and choronlogical when playing fast?
It really gets audibly repetitive when playing fast and the samples goes in the 1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4 - 1 2 3 4 pattern.

Playing a note disables random for that oscillator and switches to round robin for the next 250 ms. The behaviour predates me working at reFX so I can't tell you the full history of why it works that way. I have discussed it with Mike before, it is definitely intentional. Yes, wavetables were added fairly recently. Version 4 I think. Any expansions older than that won't have any.
