Well... If some online publication with enough reach can pick up where CM they could become a place for people to release demo versions.
But it's probably not really needed these days and I'm sure Devs prefer to keep the control of any cutdown or demo versions.

Some of them are already outdated versions or lite versions so I wouldn’t expect much from those but I really hope U-he will continue to keep Zebra Cm and Bazille Cm updated and host downloads on their site

Bounce everything to audio. Storage is cheap enough to have stem backups of everything for when you can't access the plugin anymore. Not ideal, but there's no such thing as future-proof when it comes to VSTs now.

The beautiful U-HE CM synths are VST3 so should be usable for a fairly long time.
I am particularly fond of the delightful & free Zebra CM, and wish that the paying Hive had its filters !

Even longer since U-He are one of the developers of the open-source CLAP format, and not solely reliant on VST. The sooner all developers adopt the CLAP format, the better.paramita123 wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 1:47 pm The beautiful U-HE CM synths are VST3 so should be usable for a fairly long time.![]()

u-he can at least cancel any planned Zebra3 CM release.ChanceB wrote: Sat Jan 04, 2025 10:38 pm Some of them are already outdated versions or lite versions so I wouldn’t expect much from those but I really hope U-he will continue to keep Zebra Cm and Bazille Cm updated and host downloads on their site
Probably not needed anyway, given how Zebralette3 is already a free teaser plugin for the full release.

Pretty sure they are both Conde Nast or another large publisher.MrJubbly wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2025 8:45 am What? ... Computer Music magazine's publisher, "Future Plc" is also going away?
Print is dead for a lot of things. Its always behind what's available online, and it's very expensive

The publisher is Future PLC, exactly as he said._leras wrote: Tue Jan 07, 2025 6:55 pm Pretty sure they are both Conde Nast or another large publisher.
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

CLAP doesn't have a long term track record like VST has, and it's not supported by a lot of DAWs2NDMOUSE wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 2:03 pmEven longer since U-He are one of the developers of the open-source CLAP format, and not solely reliant on VST. Companies can easily abandon it at any time and just not bother with it
It's not really accurate at all to say that CLAP has any longevity, it might but then again it might not, in any case it's a riskier move compared with VST
