That's strange. I don't think i ever had that problem. Since the old paths are displayed in the dialog, you should be able to see any differences.BONES wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2025 3:04 am What really peeved me was that every new computer used exactly the same drive and folder structure, so it didn't really have to go looking, but it still refused to work.

It seems Battery VST3 is still 4.3.0, while VST2 is 4.3.1 now; at least here - Windows 10x64.
I checked and it doesn't seem I have multiple copies installed.
On my system, the VST2 is still slow to load.
Has only VST2 been updated? Or was VST3 immune from the problem and didn't need an update?
EDIT: after "Reinstall"-ing Battery from Native Access VST3 is now 4.3.1 too - GO FIGURE...
Thanks,
Mario

Open the registry editor and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Battery 4.
Which path is listed for InstallVST364Dir?
VST3 updated just fine over here.

But as I said a reinstall did the trick.
And I hadn't opened anything that was using Battery while updating.
It's all good now.
Since I want to use a "Native Instruments" subfolder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 I think I will change the registry key you indicated. Thanks

@EvilDragon
first this is not meant trolly or something and you are not NI, but I wonder if NI/Support is aware of this? I cannot believe that they are so bad since a long time to need months & years for such fixes? i wonder what their problem is or maybe if they just dont care/dont set it on a higher priority list.
Of course you cannot point to them or you are not a direct representative but I wonder if you dont communicate with them and if they are not aware of this? and if so why such updates take so long and why it feels so sluggish supported since a long time....
respect to you, cause you help on the forums a lot of times so again this is not meant to you.

I know exactly what happened with this update and why it took so long, but it is internal information so, sorry I cannot share that. Support is not to blame at all here, they were aware of all the issues all along.
But you could deduce based on other releases that happened in the past 3 years that Battery was far from a priority, but I cannot go into specifics as to why (there are both good and bad reasons for it).

K7.10.7 does contain the loading time fix that Kontakt 8 got.

It seems K8 (player) loads slower than K7.10.7 (full), at least here, same PC, same libraries.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 3:29 pm K7.10.7 does contain the loading time fix that Kontakt 8 got.
Possible?

For me it's about the same, not sure why. Seems to be system-dependent to an extent.
