This is what IK really thinks of all the dummies that bought Total Studio Max for a $149 the past few months. Who would want to do business with a company like this????
TSMax 4 is already old stuff. T-Racks 6 has been released, so expect Max 4.5 soon with 100-150 upgrade price from v4 ;)
Is that accurate, though?

Isn't the issue with IK, that they'll blow things out at a low price, but then offer a newer version with a steep initial price?

In the past, it was always the new user who benefited the most, not an existing customer.

*for the record, I've deleted IK from my system but I did like some of the T-Racks stuff.
Wouldn't be buying now for 100 and 4 weeks later having to pay another 150 = 250 be steep for owning the current version then? Or in other words, 250 would be the normal price then for TS4.5, so it isn't a deal actually now.
Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but what I’m getting at is that I thought it was worse than that.

I remember it being something like where the sale price + the upgrade price = higher than buying the new Max bundle on release.

Not dying on a hill for this… I honestly can’t remember what was what, but I do remember thinking the last time they did it was some BS. The details of their BS is hazy.

Looks like it was a mistake. Their dealer page said $99.99 yesterday, now it says $149.99.

I don't see further discounts as disdain to customers

I know it's frustrating to buy a discounted product, and then find a further discount at a later date.
In such cases,
- I acknowledge the fact that I got said product sooner
- I accept the fact that hindsight is 20/20
- I take my frustration as a reminder to get smarter about these things, and not let myself get manipulated by marketing schemes and FOMO too much
Agreed.
This isn't what you think.

Same for me, at 99$ it was very tempting even if we own something yet. I imagine a change of mind IKM side or a wrong communication to dealers, even in Plugin Buoitique mail was set at 99$ but then in the site it was priced 149$...
Anyway, when something like that happen we must be quick to pull the trigger...

Like others said, it sucks seeing things you already bought for (sometimes substantially) less, but just try to remember that the price you paid was acceptable in the moment that you purchased it. I'm not trying to defend what any particular company does (nearly all of them might seem shady or "unfair" depending on the exact situation), but it's just a little something that helps me out personally when I see huge price drops on things I've already purchased.

That happens to me when I buy eggs, potatoes, and gasoline.

If you're losing $50 on any of those items you REALLY need to shop somewhere else.

Does NI ever discount Reaktor? I figured since it's essentially EOL that it would be cheap but somehow they have the balls to charge $199 for it. I've finally completely weaned myself off NI but I find that I miss the weird shit from the User Library.

Yes they do, and coupons would work as well, but coupons usually only work on full price items. I think I've seen it 50% off during usual sales (BF, and so on). Usually can be found on knobcloud.com also.

I have absolutely no concern over post purchase price drops and no need to demonize the companies if this happens. I buy what I need at a good price and then go to work and dont look back. This place is getting crazy with a few attacking fantastic deals over what could be future discounts. Are these attackers collecting software or making actual music?
