I hope it will have some polyphony. I'm starting to gradually like the softube synths, but they need to start upping their poly game.

Yeah this, I don't like the "we're emulating everything including painful limitations of the original synth" approach. At least give an option for polyphony.SiliconDeath wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 10:14 pm I hope it will have some polyphony. I hope that just means a new version number with substantial improvement. If it was a full replacement instead and users needed to start all over, that would probably just confirm many people's feeling that Softube abandoned them long ago after they paid for expensive Buchla or Doepfer modules which turned out to be mere teasers and were never developed into full systems. As good as it sounds, Modular has been one of the most disappointing software products ever because of that. I'll gladly keep using VAZ Modular forever instead - abandoned as well but at least it was pretty complete when that happened.sacer wrote: Fri Jan 10, 2025 11:12 pm They told me on superbooth that modular 2 is in the works and will target the user interface

Interesting, what makes VAZ Modular feel more complete for you? Did you try using Softube Modular just with the Doepfer and Intellijel modules? The Softube utility modules are looking very unspectacular, but they are really versatile and the most important thing, they work as they should.Sound_Bear wrote: Sat Jan 18, 2025 12:36 am I hope that just means a new version number with substantial improvement. I've made many Softube Modular patches ( and way more) and I'm probably one of the few persons, who likes the workflow of Modular. Since they added 'enter values' with a double click, it works very very fast for me. The only thing I'm missing, is obviously to duplicate modules (with cables), and also adding multiple destinations to one (performance module) knob, would be very nice.
In my opinion, it wasn't a that good idea to add Buchla, Vermona and 4ms modules. It feels a bit random and not complete. Instead, it would have made more sense, to choose from more different Doepfer modules. The Model modules sounds great, but sometimes they lack functions and inputs. At least a hard sync input on the oscillators, should be a standard.
I'm not that optimistic, that Modular 2 would be released in the near time (I would be glad, if I'm wrong). It seems, that they are currently more focused on other things, that are probably more profitable.
