Hi all,
i am resurrecting an old project of mine and and trying to read the patches of the old Sampletank-tracks i had.
I read the Edits XML-File and find a lot of information about the tracks and filters but cannot find something like the soundbank or patch applied. Is there a way to retrieve that?

Cheers
Marc

Well, I've had a look in the hope that I could work out whereabouts the Edit files hold the info about which preset was chosen. Disappointed to say that I couldn't. I can only assume it's somewhere within the state parameter in the <PLUGIN> data. I had hoped the ProgramNum value would be what I was looking for, but it wasn't. Sorry. :(

Yeah, that's my understanding as well: all that information is just a bunch of compiled data. I've never been able to figure it out.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

This is what my findings are, thanks for checking.

Just occurred to me that part of the Waveform/Tracktion code (engine?) was made freely available to developers to use. Might be related to Juce. This being the case, it might be possible to look at the code and determine what the state= data contains.

Looking at JUCE might be helpful, whether it's the forum or the documentation. Also check out the DSP and Plugin Development forum here at KvR:

I strongly recommend doing a lot of searching and reading before any asking, though.

And if anyone does find the answer, please come back and let us know.
Surely there must be consensus by now...
