(Apologies if this has already been posted)
New BW audio interface..
https://www.bitwig.com/connect
Personal bias: Wish they devoted more resources to core BW as this seems to be an area well covered already? (maybe the connectivity specific to Bitwig is unique enough?)

Hahaha, gotta love you Bitwiggers. Bitwig is releasing a pretty innovative product with many, MANY features not common among audio interfaces geared towards modular synths and remote controlling the DAW and the first comment is already complaining.

Actually it seems quite interesting, although I am not in the market for one, it seems on the expensive side.

I would probably prefer an official MIDI 2.0 controller, similar to Ableton Push, grind or keys versions, or even just a controller surface (faders, knobs, step sequencer...).

Interesting box! I would buy it if my UA Apollo Twin breaks down, and if Bitwig starts supporting more than 16 channels-per-instance in addressing the Vienna Ensemble Server, and if more than 512 streams are supported.

Please elaborate on what’s actually innovative about this product? The whole volume knob doubling as a controller thing—we’ve seen that already. DC outputs? Pretty much every interface nowadays does that. And controlling modular synths? Let’s be honest, how many people actually need that? Making a product for such a niche group feels like a weird choice right out of the gate.jules99 wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 5:49 pm Hahaha, gotta love you Bitwiggers. Bitwig, as usual, doing their own thing, completely ignoring what most people actually want.
The only truly unique feature here that awful orange colour. Guess we’re stuck with that forever. Well done.

I think you're a lot more interested in laughing at people / making a straw man argument than anything else. The "complaining" you reference in the first comment was extremely mild:jules99 wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 5:49 pm Hahaha, gotta love you Bitwiggers. but apparently this warrants "hahaha" condescension from you, immediately?
but please, let's hear about these "many MANY" uncommon features that make this new interface so desirable and special.

As a product in general I think it makes sense for them.
For me, it's not enough I/O -- not even any optical ports to expand it.
Also based on my experience with the NI Komplete interfaces, that form factor eats desk space for breakfast. Big old cables sticking out of the back, important controls and more jacks on top. You can't put anything on top of or close behind it. I just found it inconvenient.
I love my Scarlett 18i20. Cables are out of the way, monitoring controls are easily accessible, and I can put more gear on top of the rack. 8 analog inputs and outputs plus TOSLink for more channels, which I'm using with a BoredBrain OptX to add 8 more Eurorack inputs/outputs.

Waiting to hear about the quality (of everything) out of curiosity, but it seems to me it's just an affordable audio interface with some Bitwig integration. Not all that note worthy, but it adds some parameters to the DAW to control the device, they appear when it's connected. Wouldn't surprise me if they add more back and forth ingratiation like that in the future. Just meh stuff imo.
It's not for me. I'm happy with my RME, and honestly I'm not big on controllers anyways, apart from a transport control for convenience.
It is weird to me that some people are complaining (elsewhere) from a sort of mentality like they are owed something, really sour like. Oh no, Bitwig made a product I don't like! I do not approve, reeeeee! I know better! Weird spoiled people. It's just another product, you don't even own it. Just move on FFS. lmao.

In my mind, how desirable this proves to be will be down to how good the drivers are and how well it works with low latency. The video didn't seem to mention this at all.
Overall it's nothing particulary innovative but it does have a good combination of features which I quite like.
Has anybody seen any info on price?

Definitely interesting but not sure it will sell well, quite expensive and quite niche (and orange!)
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I'd prefer to see more regular updates to Bitwig. This past 12 months has been pretty lean and now we can see why.
Bitwig 6 // Reason 12 // Logic X // Soundtoys // U-he // FabFilter // Arturia // Elektron // Vintage Hardware

I could imagine that the updates to the audio device settings in the current beta probably are heavily motivated by the new interface. And that's something every upgrader will benefit from regardless of being a Connect 4/12 owner.
