I want to buy Tracktion

I downloaded the of Tracktion demo sometime ago, thought it was very good but started using Ableton Live around about the same time. Initially I thought Live was great but now I am bored with it. Maybe that's just me and not a refelection on Live.
I downloaded the latest Tracktion and I really like everything about it (except the timestretching which is literally useless) I even love the colours as they are.
I now have decided to purchase a licence. Obviously I have become aware of the great anticipation of T2 and I am wandering if it would be a ggod move to purchase a license now and save some money when it's realesed in February.
I am, of course, assuming I would save some cash ?
Please advice.

Get the NFR version. It's free and like the full version of Tracktion 1.
When T2 will be released, buy it.

What he said. This will get you going almost immediately at no cost, and you can start saving your pennies for T2. I think there's one last NFR giveaway still active, most others have been endedsuperstition wrote:Get the NFR version. It's free and like the full version of Tracktion 1.

Do a Google search for Tracktion NFR, that should turn it up.

it'd be cheaper if he bought T1 and then upgraded then to wait and buy T2 when it comes out.superstition wrote:Get the NFR version. It's free and like the full version of Tracktion 1.

I realized it.
I would have recommended purchase anyhow-- I'm not sure what the facts are anymore because there has been a lot of speculation and the posts by those "in the know" have gotten all mushed up in my head with the ones that are speculation; however--
I *think* that you'll get the full $80 toward T2 if you decide to upgrade, so it's a no-lose situation if you want to get started.

It has already been stated, in a post elsewhere in this forum, by "Beno" from Mackie, that the upgrade path from T1 will cost LESS THAN the difference between T1 and T2. So, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by buying T1 now....

If you look through this form you will find a post by Beno saying that the added cost of buying T1 and upgrading to T2 will be less than that of buying T2 straight out.HansM wrote:Probably it won't hurt to buy Tracktion now... but extra discounts? I wouldn't expect that.AD80 wrote:I'm pretty sure the Tape-Op magazine Tracktion deal is still on. But I think it would be a better idea to buy the full price Tracktion now and upgrade when T2 comes out. Just incase there is any extra discounts.
EDIT: edelweiss beat me to it...

Why not? The upgrade price will be discounted ATLEAST the whole price of Tracktion 1 so anything more would be a extra discount. So theres nothing to loose. Plus companies usually give a grace period whre if you buy a sequencer right before the next version, you'll get the upgrade free. I personally think T2 is really close so buying now would be a good decision IMHO.HansM wrote:

Beno wrote:Many of you have asked “how much will I pay for Tracktion v2”? At this time, we are not prepared to release any specifics on Tracktion v2 pricing. However, we will reward licensed v1.x users by offering a special upgrade path to v2. This special upgrade will equate to a total Tracktion investment that is lower than the online sale price of Tracktion v2. This is our way of thanking you for your ongoing support and for your valuable feedback.
