It could also be Arturia doesn't want Pigments 6 to get lost in the noise of NAMM and it's coming in a few weeks

Or it's possible it's a pretty minor update and really isn't going to get a flashy launch

It's interesting however that Arturia is at NAMM and so far hasn't announced anything new officially
I'm about 15 minutes away over at ViewSonic heh, I'll head over at lunch and break in and see (forgot to hit friends up for passes this year).

A sound that doesn't make me sleepy every time I tried to use it, versions 1 - 4.
Very boring to my ears.
Hopefully they address the core sound of the engine(s).
Maybe stop smoking the pot. Your road to appreciating Pigments is paved with clean living.

The Moog filter in Pigments is based on the version of Minimoog V that has an updated filter.

Didn't it exist quite a while before the Mini V... ah, the damn naming conventions. Wasn't the plugin substantially revamped for version 4, the previous version being rather primitive/not very good?

Pigments had the Mini filter a long time before Minimoog V4 was released, I think. I don't know, I might have that all mixed up.

Yes, Pigments doesn't have the latest Mini filter, unfortunately. I think its the one from the previous version, which is already a few years old. Also the "analog" OSC section is I think taken from the old Mini. It would be nice if that could get an update :)

The filter was updated before the current version, which is a more extensive update.

Are you sure, is it in the release notes? I haven't used Pigments much for a couple of years, but I did glance at the release notes for major updates as I was concerned about compatibility-breaking changes.

The last Pigments update just added the MS-20 filter, which is one of the newer models.
But I think they cannot change an existing filter, without breaking compatibility. Otherwise the patches would suddenly sound different. With the other synths, Arturia also did release the synth as a new plugin (that can be installed in parallel) if they changed the sound engine that drastically. With the Mini, I think they even redesigned all of the presets.

So far Pigments was all compatible and free updates.

I think the winning move would be to just include the new Mini filter as its own thing, 'MiniV4,' and keep the original for backwards compatibility.

Ha! Fair point.
Alas, using Pigments when being stone cold sober is a good way for me to get ready for a nap.

Their Steiner Parker filter from their own Polybrute 6/12 would be the one I’d hope they implement. Running granular through that would be special ;)
The new Mini V filter is a no brainer too ! This would warm the digital sound of it up in a nice way

I'll get in trouble for saying this, but it feels a stock KVR whine is to say "analog filters are crap" when shopping listing anything on any synth. The MS-20 filter in Pigments is great - more alternatives would be nice but I don't think there's some terrible gap in Pigments' arsenal here.

Dunno what I want from P6 really. Ya know, fun things.

They could just add the new ones and keep the old ones for backwards compatibility it's really not that hard, you just have to call them something different

If they did include updates to the filters on say a new Pigments 6 they can just call the new filter say Mini and the old one one Mini Pigments 5 to specify the new and the old

Would also be super simple to include some kind of code in the preset to specify the new preset was created in Pigments 6 and if that code in the preset isn't there

Furthermore as they have done in the past they have shown they have no issues with creating a new version of something and breaking backwards compatibility and just letting people keep the old version installed alongside

It's why I have two versions of the Arturia Jupiter 8 installed for example

True. Analog Lab has to handle this kind of situation already.

A 3rd main osc/voice and some 'analogue' goodness like the polybrute sp filter would be nice.
