If I upgrade to CV-2 with the preset pack, will I still get the upgrade to CV-3? If so, why even offer the option to upgrade to CV3 directly. I'm confused.
Clicking on "Multiphonics CV-3 info" in the picture on the right side is where I saw the higher priced options I mentioned earlier.
I'm logged in and have CV1.

I have the same question. I was just about ready to check out when I saw both options and stopped there. I have Multiphonics 1.

I've been wondering about this too, but what I suspect is if you purchase the CV-2 upgrade with the sound pack (the left hand option) you will not receive the CV-3 upgrade. Purchasing the right hand option will give you CV-2 now plus CV-3 when it come out but no sound pack.Held wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:47 am I have the following upgrade options in my account.

CV-2 will be essentially part of CV-3 in the same way that CV-1 is now all within CV-2 and is no longer available to purchase (CV-1 that is).
It will be good to get some more clarity on this however.

That's what I suspect too, although it would be a shitty move to tempt people into buying CV-2 without the upgrade now.slackhead wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:20 pmI've been wondering about this too, but what I suspect is if you purchase the CV-2 upgrade with the sound pack (the left hand option) you will not receive the CV-3 upgrade. I emailed support, so hopefully, we'll get a clear answer tomorrow.

I see 2 offers on this promo page for people who are buying CV for the first time:
https://www.applied-acoustics.com/promo/
one is for CV2, and the other is for CV2 with 3(?) soundpacks.
Both of them say they include the update to CV3 when it comes out.
The higher price one is because it includes the soundpacks.

My upgrade offer was from Tassman to CV-2 for $39. I did not have CV-1. Now that I took that deal, it’s offering me another upgrade to CV-3 for an additional $39. Keeping an eye on this thread for clarification.

Tassman to CV2 for $39 is a good deal. Even better if CV3 comes through for you. Takes some of the sting out of them dropping Tassman.crawlingwind wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:12 pm My upgrade offer was from Tassman to CV-2 for $39. I did not have CV-1. As soon as AAS clears the air on this, I'm ready to order.

The current CV-2 deals (from Tassman/Objeq Delay etc.) are all purchases after November 15th. I don't see AAS as the kind of company to intentionally mislead anyone. I guess their system is not clever enough to say 'you will get CV-3 free' rather than show the current CV-3 upgrade offer.

why do you suspect that, when AAS eplicitly say they'll grandfather CV-3 into any purchase of CV-2 made since November 15th?slackhead wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:20 pmwhat I suspect is if you purchase the CV-2 upgrade with the sound pack (the left hand option) you will not receive the CV-3 upgrade.

I was severely underwhelmed with Multiphonics when it came out, and did a hard pass. I finally bit, and scored CV-2 for $39.00 just now (since I own Tassman).

I ended up upgrading to CV-3 from CV-1 just in case. In the meantime I'm playing with the CV-2 demo, so there's not much of a problem here.
I hope CV-3 lasts a little longer before another paid update, but I'm happy to see it being developed, I really like this modular system.

Because a purchase and an upgrade aren't necessarily the same... They probably mean upgrades as well, but it's better to get official confirmation.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 9:20 amwhy do you suspect that, when AAS eplicitly say they'll grandfather CV-3 into any purchase of CV-2 made since November 15th?slackhead wrote: Sun Jan 26, 2025 8:20 pmwhat I suspect is if you purchase the CV-2 upgrade with the sound pack (the left hand option) you will not receive the CV-3 upgrade.

But they are. Whether you buy a thing at full price, or at a discounted price, you are still buying it.Held wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 12:04 pm Because a purchase and an upgrade aren't necessarily the same...
Now that's not to say that a company might deny that, but that would be very dumb for PR, and pretty much legally indefensible.

That ^ The screengrab of AAS's page I posted above is very clear. I logged in, checked out my options, and purchased an upgrade I was offered, for $39. I anticipate getting CV-3 when it comes out, per their published statement declaring that to be a fact.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 12:10 pm [...] but that would be very dumb for PR, and pretty much legally indefensible.

The screengrab says "If you've purchased Multiphonics CV-2 ...", not "If you've purchased an upgrade to Multiphonics CV-2 ...", so legally speaking, I wouldn't be so sure. If a full license were identical to an upgrade, they would cost the same.Shabdahbriah wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 12:56 pmThat ^ The screengrab of AAS's page I posted above is very clear. Anyway, this discussion is kind of pointless. I'll wait what support has to say since there's still plenty of time to get the offer.

No, it doesnt say that because in both cases you would have bought the same item, just at different price points.Held wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 1:27 pm The screengrab says "If you've purchased Multiphonics CV-2 ...", not "If you've purchased an upgrade to Multiphonics CV-2 ...", so legally speaking, I wouldn't be so sure.
So legally speaking you have bought the same item.
The only point where they're not 'identical' is the cost so, erm, no.If a full license were identical to an upgrade, they would cost the same.
