Not the greatest analog of the time (there was one back in the day that sat unloved in one of the local music shops for years) but as someone who wants *everything* to get a decent emulation, props for doing it and it looks pretty nicely done!

Back in time, some shops gave them away as freebies when customers bought guitars.
I bought mine from a mobile DJ who used it for sound effects.
It was a really awful synth
But it did those swirly FX sounds that work nice on stage.

Congrats to audiothing on getting a synth out.
Price would be reasonable except things like UAD synths are less and top tier. Very tricky area to break into these days as the bar is quite high.
This is what this is supposed to sound like. Unfortunately quite a large gap sonically from this plug in... at least from the vids I've seen on YouTube.

Ah, how nice, the UAD fanboys are coming to competitors threads trying to find new buyers.
It seems it doesn't go so well for the greedy company...

Hate to break it to you but you are mistaken UAD for the most part is not less and many of them are rather poor_leras wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:05 am Congrats to audiothing on getting a synth out.

But prove me wrong give us an example of what you are talking about. I bet you can't
Thanks in advance

At some aspects, sounds very similar to Minikorg, being both created in the same area of time, very likely...

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it, I was able to reproduce some of what's in that video pretty closely on the plugin. Judicious use of effects is important here._leras wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:05 am This is what this is supposed to sound like. A well-behaved signature.

Indeed the original has all the sections spelled out like that. But I've seen the same labeling in several other synths I had. One that comes to mind is the Ekosynth P15.Examigan wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 1:15 am I don’t think I’ve seen a synth with the sections spelled out like L.F.O. and V.C.O., etc. Maybe that’s how the original was?

True, it wasn’t the top analog synth of its era, but it was affordable and got the job done. It was also lightweight, so you could bring it to gigs without much hassle. IMO its real advantage was how easy it was to mod. Just adding a suboscillator went a long way toward expanding its sound possibilities.beely wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 2:10 am Not the greatest analog of the time (there was one back in the day that sat unloved in one of the local music shops for years) but as someone who wants *everything* to get a decent emulation, props for doing it and it looks pretty nicely done!![]()

Thank you! I can't really comment on UAD's quality since I've never tried them, but I do have a few thoughts on pricing. Do you prefer companies that slap a $199 price tag on a product only to offer a constant 85% discount? I believe our prices are fair overall. We're constantly updating and improving all our products. Since we're a small team, if our prices are just $10 more than those of larger companies, does it really matter? We'll try to stay away from the race to the bottom for as long as possible._leras wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:05 am Congrats to audiothing on getting a synth out.

Look, I've owned this synth for over 20 years, I know exactly how it should sound. What you're hearing in the video is highly processed with reverb and delay effects. As mentioned earlier, we've noticed that the saw waveform on some units can vary, most likely caused by bad capacitors and overall aging of components. That's why we included a Saw Shape parameter. In our unit we set it to 0.42, even though it should ideally be closer to 1.0. "Every analog unit sounds different", of course they do, but you can easily match the raw sound with the parameters we provided._leras wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 3:05 amThis is what this is supposed to sound like. Just saying it's a tough market to get into.

Sounds like you nailed the sound of the saw wave, very impressive.audiothing wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:07 amThank you! It'd be nice to also hear the square wave, the envelope and filter self oscillation comparison.

Sorry, wasn't complaining about the price. I think it's a good price. Was more a comment about it being a tough market.audiothing wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:07 am Since we're a small team, if our prices are just $10 more than those of larger companies, does it really matter? That side by side comparison is actually pretty good, and has a great presence of sound.
I love the FX of yours I have and will give the demo a proper whirl.
