Perhaps what you should question is what your post brings to the table, by actively dismissing a small company's effort to produce something they genuinely believe in.seafire wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2025 11:46 pm Ok, so I haven't tried it, and I'm not going to, so my view can be described as 'limited/unworthy '
But why would I. I know this synth, from the hardware, and it was dull, basic and bland.
Seems to me, these days, some devs have moved away from 'classic' analogues, that were quite basic and dull anyway (Juno anyone?) and are emulating stuff that is rarer but , well awful.
Jen never made a decent synth, and if you think rolling a turd in glitter makes it worth a single cent, you are delusional.
I'm sure this company did their best to emulate and improve, but it really is a waste of time
I do wonder about the thinking process of people who choose such projects
If you saw the intro video with the guy playing his heart out and you still think it sounds dull, either you lack musical taste or need your ears checked my friend
I am often prone to being a harsh critic too so I can understand. But when I see someone playing keys like this and I can feel their passion surging, it infuses me with joy. Well done AudioThing!

This might be the most polarized product we have released so far. I have never seen such strong comments from both sides. I've received several messages from people genuinely happy to be able to play the SX1000 again as they had sold the hardware years ago but are still fond of it.IvyBirds wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 12:44 amIt's amazing how threatened they feel about you and what you are doing
It's bizarre really and for what?
So you created a plugin they have no interest in, based on a vintage synth they don't like so what?
It's just weird they are losing their shit over it, let's you know you are doing the right things
At the same time, I've even been blocked by a university professor on FB (in a famous Italian Synth Group) annoyed by the fact that we emulated such an irrelevant synth. I would never have imagined all that

It definitely is, no doubt. The good thing though, our products are driven by genuine passion, not just by sales figures (unlike same of the big companies caught up in the price race to the bottom).

No, unfortunately I've never seen one. It's the Roland RS-09 (MK II).El°HYM wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:21 amThe SM 2007 ?audiothing wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:02 am Talking about wasted time and our thinking process, our next synth is going to be a not-fancy, not-classic, probably dull, Organ/Strings machine combo. My dear friend Manuele Montesanti, the guy in the video (and in some of our other instrument demos), is one of the best keyboard players I personally know. He really knows how to make the instrument come alive, and it's indeed such a joy watching him play.paramita123 wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:29 amPerhaps what you should question is what your post brings to the table, by actively dismissing a small company's effort to produce something they genuinely believe in.

When you do th Juno 60 might I suggest the ability to add some of your more quirky effects (that I love and you do so well) both before and after the chorus. Things like a Spring reverb before and/or after the chorus would be awesomeaudiothing wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:02 am And yes, the JUNO 60 is in the works too (which is why we added that arpeggiator to the JEN).
Also on the Juno 60 there were three buttons for tape that you could save and load your presets to
Might I suggest you use those for 3 different presets from your tape sims, maybe two from reels and one from wires

Honestly you're better off not being associated with someone who would block you for such an idiotic reason. Consider that a lucky turn of events.audiothing wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:32 am At the same time, I've even been blocked by a university professor on FB (in a famous Italian Synth Group) annoyed by the fact that we emulated such an irrelevant synth. Nope. Or the Prodigy, which I'm particularly fond of, which although is otherwise pretty basic and not that flexible, has possibly *the* most unique oscillator sync bend sound on any synth out there.muki wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 4:30 am there is no emulation, i.e.: software plugin, of the micromoog/multimoog, or is there ?
just wondering...
You can do much of what it can do with a clean Minimoog emulation, as the Prodigy wasn't as fat/vintage/saturated sounding as a proper Minimoog, but nothing I've found will do those sync bends.
Other Moogs too haven't been done yet - the Source, Opus 3 and others including Bob Moog designs like the Crumar Spirit. There's still good synths out there that haven't been modelled, albeit most of the low-hanging fruit has been plucked over and over again..!

Thats also cool! Still loving those quirky old String - machines, they often seem a bit overlooked by many.audiothing wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 1:41 am

There are several interesting vintage synths that have not yet been emulated. Problem is that 'interesting' often coincides with 'rare'. Getting your hands on those, to be able to emulate them to a reasonable level, might be tricky... or costly, depending on how you look at it.beely wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 4:43 am There's still good synths out there that haven't been modelled, albeit most of the low-hanging fruit has been plucked over and over again..!![]()

Somehow I hear the SX1000 very strong and hardwareish. After experimenting full day today to find and alternative in my library (large library) of soft synths I decided to purchase it. Thank you for your good work, Audiothing!

I just dont undertand why would you do that?audiothing wrote:And yes, the JUNO 60 is in the works too (which is why we added that arpeggiator to the JEN). They should make a pretty good dull pair![]()
We have official Roland Juno 60 version, Arturia's take, Tal's take on this synth. People swear by tal's version and especially Roland Juno, why would you waste so much time and resources on to make something that is already done so well?
