I just dont undertand why would you do that? :)

We have official Roland Juno 60 version, Arturia's take, Tal's take on this synth. People swear by tal's version and especially Roland Juno, why would you waste so much time and resources to make something that is something done so well? :)
The bigger question is, why do you care? He’s already explained that he doesn’t do this in hopes of generating huge sales and it’s obviously something he just wants to do. If it’s done well, is priced competitively, uses a copy protection scheme that doesn’t scare off the dongle-haters, etc. there will be buyers. I’m sure the developer is far more aware of the cost:benefit than any of us are, and the highest priority may not even be monetary profit. For all we know, this is just his hobby turned into a side hustle and maybe not even his primary source of income.

I dont, neither im saying anything against. Its just a genuine question and not a buisiness one. Im just curious. If i would have a synth that i would have like Roland Juno 60 and could code it and id love to have it as a vst for myself and other people, i would first make sure there is no great emulation already. But there is, Roland made it, id just buy it and use the recources elswhere  code an AI that codes analog emulations vsts

Also on the Juno 60 there were three buttons for tape that you could save and load your presets to

Might I suggest you use those for 3 different presets from your tape sims, maybe two from reels and one from wires
We're definitely planning to add effects for the Juno, just like we did for the SX1000. I'm also working on updates for Wurly and Philicorda to include built-in effects. Originally, I aimed for a "pure" emulation, but it turns out people really enjoy having some effects right in the same GUI. Good idea to give the option to have them pre/post. Thanks again for the feedback!

Thats also cool! Still loving those quirky old String - machines, they often seem a bit overlooked by many.
Yes, I love them, and it's a shame they're often poorly emulated. They use 12 oscillators with an octave divider, so the same notes across different octaves stay in sync. This prevents the classic phasing issues you’d typically hear in sample libraries or when using simpler additive synthesis methods.

OMG I owned one of these a long time ago, and would love to have a digital emulation of it. Always thought the ensemble/chorus sounded great.

Few synths have been done perfectly. Most can still be improved upon. The Juno-60 is one of those that can still be improved.

Because I want to make my own version. I own the hardware and while the current emulations are good enough, I still can't match my unit (TAL was the closest by the way). I also think that there could be several UX/GUI improvements.
Roland is either subscription or a couple hundred, right? If that's your cup of tea...

Honestly, if I had focused too much on what everyone else was doing, I wouldn't have created half the plugins in our catalog :)

Would you be willing to give it a second envelope and TAL-style unison?

Yes, although AudioThing is my full time job, money is definitely not my main driver when planning a new product. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love. As for cost/benefit, it really varies, some products might take months to cover their costs, while others might come together in just a couple of days. Regardless, a Juno will be worth it in the long term.
For our freebie with Hainbach, Moon Echo, we spent months working on it. We scrapped and rebuilt the DSP at least three times because it simply wasn't good enough. All of that for a freebie, but some might argue it wasn't worth it from a financial standpoint.

It's a fun little synth. The ensemble is really good! I might even dare to say it's better than the Juno chorus. The real drawback is the awful envelope, but we'll add a proper third mode for that.

Absolutely, while I don't have the tubbutec mod, I'm planning to add many of those extra features. Mono/duophonic with unison control, portamento, more lfo waves, velocity control, extra envelopes, and I'm sure more stuff I can't remember now :)

Make a Tubbutec-licensed version! That's the kind of thing that would really make yours stand out.

Sweet, thank you for working on this! Going to be an instant buy for me.

I did consider adding the Tubbutec upgrade to my Juno, but I'm still not sure about it. That said, their features are definitely an inspiration and will influence our plugin version. Thanks for the suggestion!

Definitely seems worth doing if you have a 60. Mine was a 6 and I decided it wasn’t worth the effort (hated not having patch memory).
