The input-format menu on the right of the plugin (that starts off saying "L+R" by default) doesn't have Surround or Ambisonics options in either MReverb or MReverbMB. Also, in MXXX, if I enable Ambisonics and put Reverb in the signal path, it just passes through the audio for all channels except Front L+R.
I'm using 17.02 on Windows. I see the same issues in Studio One Pro 6.6 and in Reaper 6.82. Things seem to work as expected with MTurboReverb as well as MDelayMB, MConvolutionMB, and others.
Are the MReverb plugins just "too old" to support the surround options? If so, is there a list of other processors which do not?
Surround/Ambisonics missing in MReverb?

The algorithm in MReverb is just based around the 2D positioning in stereo. And yes, it's kinda obsolete.
