ps. What they manage to achieve with the devices and Bitwig's variations is truly impressive
Let‘s speculate about 6.0

Everyone has their own issues, which is why they do whatever they want
What would needed now was a Termolo+, but I had to go back to the Tremolator. Honestly, as long as they do things that can't be done with plugins, I don't care—go for it!

You can mock a chord track by placing empty midi parts and naming them things like Am D C F#m, or using the text notes. (Unless you had more of an auto accompeniament things in mind)cfernn wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:58 pm nothing original, just voicing my support...
2) A chord track. This would greatly benefit song makers.
3) Drum Machine needs an upgrade. I don't know what, I just know I never want to touch it. What is it missing? It feels clunky and slow to use for some reason.
I'm sure a slightly more integrated sample browser dedicated to drum machine could help clunky or not having each drum hit in a sampler with it's own FX chains super powerful.
My main wish for drum machine is a special grouping setup, so groups of cells could grouped together and would allow e.g. multiple local sends for that group. I can set this up with audio sends and receivers, but I think it would be worth Bitwig extending the drum machine in this way.

Yes built in V8 Cowbell. Instant Phonk Goodness.xbitz wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 8:40 pm Everyone has their own issues, which is why they do whatever they wantWhat would needed now was a Termolo+, but I had to go back to the Tremolator. That would actually be rad. This actually makes me realize what I miss is being able to blindly click through and audition samples the way you can in Battery. I get you can open up the browser and click through, but no matter what system I am on, it is clunky!_leras wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 9:30 am I'm sure a slightly more integrated sample browser dedicated to drum machine could help clunky or not having each drum hit in a sampler with it's own FX chains super powerful.

So.....kinda clunky to , but this is how i audition stacks of sounds sometimes
Have a note counter controlling the select & a button to turn it on and off, all samples are stacked on 1 key, so every new note selects the next sample, hit hold when i find something i like

I think they are planning a beta release between the end of March and mid-April, if everything goes according to plan. During this period, their interface will also be released, which would make everything perfect. This update is personally one of the most important for me and will be crucial in determining whether Bitwig becomes my main DAW. I hope they deliver.

What I could appreciate is Reason’s block system, but multilayered—now that would be truly next level, if you miss the original concept
and then there would instantly be a multi-scratchpad as well. My other "big" idea is if multiple tabs could be launched(would be active at the same time), like the 'Project in Project' subsystem of Reaper, or to start with, it wouldn’t be bad if Polarity could step in and rearrange the development priorities
The fact that he has to implement scale and piano roll features as a controller script—how crazy is that?

It is highly unlikely. Version 5.3 is still in beta, so the chances of them releasing it and immediately entering another beta are extremely low. I believe they will exit this beta in March, with the next beta release coming around September or October. This would align with the speculation that they are moving towards one annual release cycle.Zikax wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:38 pm I think they are planning a beta release between the end of March and mid-April, if everything goes according to plan. This really might be a good fit for Bitwig. And if those blocks could also be used to control modulators and device selectors (similar to the global fill mode), it would help keep clip variations in sync with device settings.xbitz wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 2:05 pm What I could appreciate is Reason’s block system, but multilayered—now that would be truly next level, if you miss the original concept

Exactly, just as I wrote, I would also need multiple blocks layer, and those stacked on top of each other should be transparent in case of muting or empty space.Dionysos wrote: Thu Feb 06, 2025 8:53 amThis really might be a good fit for Bitwig. (from the video above)
Reason can have only one block layer, so the idea is genius but whole system is not truly versatile, or at least it wasn't fully developed—I guess they saw that users wouldn't even grasp it, so they improved it in a way that allows the whole thing to be turned off(as a default setting)

5.3 is out now. The beta phase took quite a long time—almost 3 months.vroteg wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 8:59 pmIt is highly unlikely. The reason it took so long might be that they needed their resources for Bitwig 6.
If the beta for Bitwig 6 is released around mid-April, the official release could happen in the summer, around July or August. Version 6.1 could then potentially follow in the fall.
But of course, this is all just speculation. In my opinion, they’re planning to release Bitwig 6 around the same time as their interface. It would make sense, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen.
