You can already do the Ring Mod stuff in Waverazor. There is a RingMath filter type that has all (and more) of the algorithms found in Miniraze. The Filter FM, you are correct, is not in Waverazor.

Good point, although in waverazor the source oscillator in the ring-math "filter" doesn't do wave-slicing, so that is a distinction from miniraze.

Just wanted to say this is exemplary communication from the devs, which (along with your innovative spirit) was one of my motivations to support you guys' work with a Waverazor purchase in the first place. I do think that smoother usability is a welcome direction and will keep an eye on the new product.

Obviously I can't speak for all waverazor owners, but to me, the value proposition is a lot less as an existing waverazor owner than someone coming into the MOK wave-slicing fold cold

I am a big fan of waverazor and appreciate everything you've done with that and would purchase miniraze if it were in an "upgrade" type price bracket - that would be additional revenue coming into MOK that wouldn't happen at the current everyone-the-same pricing. Just wanted to put my cards on the table so you have a tiny bit more information for making those business decisions.
Thanks! I know you're looking out for us and I really appreciate it! I wish I could just go by your cards, then it would be an easy decision. :)

To let you in on more of the business side, we are also considering the development costs in man-hours for back end engineering, project management and design, testing, opportunity costs, legal costs (privacy mostly), sales and marketing costs, as well as the return on investment from Waverazor users. And we wouldn't be doing this alone - we would need Tracktion to do similar development work from their end, and they don't have a business incentive to do it. Most likely, we would have to pay them (a lot) for their time and to offset their opportunity costs. As I mentioned before, if we don't do the work to verify existing customers, we've essentially put Miniraze permanently on sale, and then we lose that aspect as a business tool to compete with other companies. At any rate, unless I'm missing something, doing a crossgrade is not looking good.

The problem has really risen as an unintended by-product of our decision to work with Tracktion to launch our company with Waverazor back in 2017. They helped us so much by providing access to their business infrastructure and introducing us to their customer base, and I'm incredibly thankful for that. However, now we have this particular relationship that sometimes creates snags in things we would really like to do. I honestly didn't foresee this issue and I'm really sorry about that, because I do understand how disappointing it is to the people who have supported us the most. All I can offer is that we will continue to update Waverazor with new features and modules, and we still don't charge for modules like some other companies do...

Again, thanks for your time and the opportunity to share my thoughts!

All the best,
Taiho

I really appreciate being included in that, thank you! Honestly, I know I haven't been the best at keeping up with KVR, but I'm trying to do better. Historically, Rob has been much more "on it" here than I have... Anyway, thank you so much for the encouragement and I hope you're enjoying Waverazor! We'll do our best to keep the innovations coming. :)

Oh ... hilarious. You can use Miniraze as well as "FX unit".
With Bitwig I was able to build a chain of a Miniraze: First in the chain playing midi notes and one placed right behind it that has Ext-In enabled to add FX only. And By FX I mean the whole engine can be applied to whats coming in...
But it only worked in this setup. Putting one Miniraze on the master bus did not work. Seems it requires the midi notes ;-)

It was fun to put a reverb with delay after a miniraze snare ... and add a tiny little saw oscillator and uni sono mode as well in the FX miniraze...Damn, so cool!

I would definitely be interested in seeing/hearing a demonstration of this in a video :hyper:

I'm not into videos... Are you using Bitwig? I could share my play-around project?

Here's a screenshot for the start. To the left the "Synth" and to the right the "FX" and in green all the elements that can be used, i.e. filtering, VCA and finally the FX.

Miniraze is a really good synth. But this little delay effect is the best sounding delay I've ever used. Can the delay be released as a standalone plugin? No bigger, no more scope, just like in the Miniraze?

And will there be a Linux version like Waverazor?

An update!

https://www.kvraudio.com/news/media-ove ... ters-65600
Media Overkill (MOK) has announced the free upgrade to its wavetable synth plugin, Miniraze, bringing it to version 1.5. The update adds more waveforms, matching the full library available in the flagship Waverazor synth plugin. Miniraze 1.5 also introduces two new formant filters and 390 sounds, including new patches from synthesists Dash Glitch, Alex Reid, Xenos Soundworks, and Ross Totino.

Miniraze features three wave-slicing oscillators that allow users to combine any two waveforms per oscillator. The technology processes the two combined waves to generate new sonic characteristics. The 1.5 upgrade expands the waveform library to over 150 from simple sines to complex variations.
Features

3 wave-slicing oscillators, each allowing two waveforms to be sliced and combined.
Over 150 waveforms included, plus 390 sounds.
2 filters in series, each with 15 filter types, including subtractive, generative, and formant.
Vast Modulation Matrix for modular-style patching.
4 synchronizable LFOs and 4 ADSR envelopes.
9 onboard effects, including Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, and Distortion.
Built-in arpeggiator and Unison Mode.
Ring Math processor with 21 types of ring modulation.
External Audio input for processing instruments and other sounds.
Analog button adds subtle organic randomness to the system.
32 Color Themes available.
New Sound Banks are also available for purchase separately.

Pricing & Availability

Available now as a free upgrade for existing Miniraze owners. New licenses can be purchased at a limited-time sale price of $29 USD (regular price $99 USD).

Formats: VST, AU, and AAX on Mac, PC, and Linux.

Free trials are available.

Folks...look at the ui changes.

Currently going through the preset category "New". (edit: really like some of the "XenosSoundworks.com" sounds on first listen.)
