Hi Jo, Nice work with all the updates to the Beta!

There appears to be something missing in mulab's handling of plugins - both vst3 and CLAP formats:
- increasingly there are a number of developers who distribute either multiple plugins or different versions of the same plugin within a single file, for example U-he supplies zebralette within the same vst3 file or CLAP file as the Zebra/Demo plugins. Another example would be six-sines by BaconPaul (of Surge-Synth-Team) in which there is a 'seven outs' version contained in the release file aswell as the normal version https://github.com/baconpaul/six-sines/releases
It seems mulab can only see the main version in the above type of file, so Zebra2 but not zebralette, and six sines but not the 'seven-outs' version. Other DAWs seem to recognise and include the variations in their plugins lists.

I hope you have time to take a look at this.

I did request this not long after VST3/CLAP were introduced. I would also like to see this function added as it would allow me to move further away from VST2.4 :)

I checked out Bacon Paul Six Sines VST3 but i only see 1 plugin in that DLL. (in both MuLab 10.0.39 and Reaper 7.33)

I have an earlier evaluation copy of reaper (I don't get along with it and find mulab much better) - this one shows two plugins for six-sines - one is six sines, seven outs. Its the same with Bitwig Studio and Tracktion Waveform. Mulab will only show the one plugin for six sines.

Here's a better example (also by baconpaul:

This one contains four plugins in one VST3 or CLAP file. Again, mulab only accesses the first one.
This screenshot shows the reaper fx plugin list with the four highlighted, and mulab plugin browser with the plugin window opened in mulab. (also highlighted the six sines plugin entries)

Several u-he plugins have this issue. Uhbik 2 is another that I own that is in need of this update. :)

That's an issue I've been meaning to bring up here for a while, but hadn't got round to it.

Well, hopefully this can be addressed sometime during M10's life-cycle. :)

How weird.
The SixSines i downloaded yesterday only contains 1 plugin!
And, as said, also Reaper shows 1 SixSines.
Would be quite unexpected if a newer Reaper would have reversed that multi-plugin feature, right?

Yes, this is a good working example, i indeed see 4 plugins inside the Sapphire.vst3.
I can use this one for research, thanks.

Perhaps it's just the nightly which contans the 7-outs version (sorry - I forgot to check the stable version)

Post

It's the nightly that has the 7-outs, yes.

Savihost will let you select one of the "Vst's", and let you load it.
But then you cant load any of the other three the next time you load it.
It just goes to the one after that. I guess it saved the selection somewhere.

What is the point of this? So that I dont have to have 4 plugins?
I cant tell is steinberg keeps coming out with great ideas, or terrible ones.

Yeah I wondered what the purpose was too? Seems pointless!

Are audio sequences supposed to output midi into the event input of a rack?

Post

Yes.
These events can be used in a MUX that processes the audio events.
And if you don't want these events you can filter them away.

Very important question!

When released, will it be MuLab 10 or MuLab X?

My decision to purchase relies on the answer.

:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(
