T2 feature motivation - did anyone ask the users?

I'm going to venture a guess or four here:
1. The majority of Tracktion users do not and may never have frequented this forum. They are unaware of the angry or dissapointed users posting here. They are just looking forward to the T2 release, which may or may not be of any use to them.
2. The striptease is not just intended for existing users. Mackie want NEW customers too. They probably want all kinds of people using Tracktion, including those who work in broadcast. Hence some of the new "unrequested" features.
3. Tracktion is now in the Mackie product line. It would be kind of silly if it didn't have support for other Mackie products.
4. No one knows anything yet. Until T2 is released, all we can do is wait. Some will be dissapointed, some won't. Remember that v2 is probably not the last Tracktion release. Features that are left out now may be included in later releases.

I was wondering...Would Jules/Mackie make more money from upgrades (Beno has already said the upgrade will cost less for us) or from getting new customers?
In other words, the more NEW customers they get the LESS we might have to pay for the upgrade.
I'll break it down for you...
The NFR has got MORE people INTRESTED in BUYING T2.
They will have to pay FULL PRICE whatever that may be.
People who have bought T1 will get it for LESS than the FULL PRICE.
The MORE people who buy at the FULL PRICE the LESS Jules/Mackie will have to charge us to make a profit.
Jules and Mackie are being really cool and all some peeps can do is moan. Im really wondering what did some people buy Trackton for in the first place. To make music or start forum geek wars.
Im pretty happy with how its going because even though I dont have any Mackie gear features like being able to hide information I dont need, being able to use hardware controllers, being able to change the size of the screen and external sync is usefull to me. The things I would really like might come up and if they dont then I'll ask when the features have been completed.
If your really itching to know whats going to be in T2 have a look at what Jules is making it from
http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juce/
Looking at the above, for instance, tipped me off external midi sync might be possible and Beno's update confirmed it. Its written very clearly.
Im certainly not the brightest bulb on my street, house or probably in this room (my cat is far smarter than I am
) but if I can work it out Im sure you can.

well see most people who are talking about adobe audition dont really use the realtime FX racks or bussing in multitrack mode. It's not just an audio editor, its a full featured multitrack editor and mixer as well, and when you run into problems with mastering and mixing 16 tracks, it kind of starts to piss you off

I'd just like to put in my 2 cents:
One person's "useless feature" is another person's "OMG ... Finally Someone Gets It!"
Case in point: Broadcast .WAV support. This is HUGE deal for me, and I know a lot of radio/TV people will be quite jazzed to have pro-quality tools available at such a low price.

I believe it's a type of wave file that holds additional information about the file. I don't know all about it, but I do know that if I create a broadcast wave file at 2:11 of a song, then import it to another song, it will put itself in the right place(or something like that). So it holds info about it's length and time placement and other stuff. Maybe someone else can help more here.

Yeah you pretty much got it Kooly.
The bwav file works just like any other wave file (it has a .wav extension) except it knows where it was originally recorded. So after moving it arround or importing it into a diferent program, it can be retruned to its original location. So for a program that records all its wav files as bwavs, all you need is the folder of audio files and they can all be placed back at their original location simply and easily. I hope this helps.
