I decided to share some of my MSF instruments.

https://www.media.xtdmusic.eu/down/meld ... uments.zip
Three instruments for MSoundFactory.
Works in any version (even free MSoundFactory Player).
Two small bass instruments (Baskur and Knober) and one more complex (X-Synth).
GUI is bad designed and confusing (especially in X-Synth), I know. I mostly made it for myself for tests, but it contains over 100 various presets (X-Synth) and I hope someone will like some of them.
Install these instruments using MProductManager.

This is direct link - do not expect any website with "download" button. File will be downloaded instantly without need of additional actions. No registrations, no other annoying actions needed. So if your browser is set to automatic download without asking for path - just check download list in your browser after you click that link.

Additional instrument and a large set of presets in later posts.

Some very nice stuff in there. Many thanks.

Thank You.
I forget to add that Baskur and Knober also have presets (not only X-Synth).

This is excellent stuff and brings some freshiness back to the comunity! Really well designed great sounding devices & I also like the GUIs (they make me nostalgic). Have you considered adding the newly implemented per-voice modulation buttons? Apparantly it works with any custom GUI. viewtopic.php?t=617468

Thank You for your kind words.

I must say, I may play a little with per-voice modulation when there will be some better (or any) tutorial that explains it a little better. So far I found on this forum (quote):
(jmg8) "You must create a custom GUI. If you add a button there is an option at the top somewhere to make it a modulator button. You must attach this control to an MP connected to a per-voice modulator. When you export, the GUI will show the new control."

So, if I add some button I can made it a modulator. Great. But modulator for what? Modulators are ENVs, LFOs and other stuff like that, so how can I made some button to be a modulator? Then I must attach this control (button?) to a MP (multiparameter - I figure out that MP means MultiParameter after 5 minutes of searching wtf. is MP) that "is connected to a per-voice modulator". So now I know that if I want to use per-voice modulator, I must connect it to per-voice modulator. Using custom GUI. Great. And I still know nothing.

I though that MSF have per-voice modulators anyway (they are even called "PER-VOICE MODULATION SOURCES" in MSF).

Sorry, if there is some great new feature, it really needs to be explained better. For now I am playing with features I know and understand. :)

The button is a modulation target. You can see it in the MSF generator everywhere. It's the box next to all parameters that can be modulated (by a per-voice modulator). The new feature lets you put these in the custom graphics.

Ok, I test it and now I get it.

Don't see how can it be useful since user, when load instrument, have access to all modulators assignment, but cannot change any modulators (except those assigned to multiparameters). So user can add ENV2 (for example) as modulator even if can't edit ENV2 in instrument.

Some limit should be implemented (so instrument creator can choose which modulators can be used).

They can edit the modulator. Let's say you assign ENV2, the left of the 3 buttons opens the ENV2 settings window.

Oh, you're right.
So it's really something. :)
Thank You!

EDIT: There is a bug. So what if I can add ENV2 to modulator in GUI if saving preset do not save this? Also values after instrument reload are revert to default. Also - all ENVs and LFOs are shared, so changing it in one instrument preset - change it for all. And will not be saved anyway.

Post

I updated preset bank from first post. Now XTDpresets.mpresets contains 120 presets.

...and for MSF LE users I added knobs for most of presets to adjust at least delay and reverb. Link the same (in first post).

Yes, there are limitations. It is not really intended to be used this way anyway. We added it so that we can use custom graphics in the generator and still allow modulation as normal. In this way, everything would be saved globally in MSF.

I updated link to presets from first post. I play lately a lot with MSF so I just share my work with you guys. I hope some sounds would be interesting for you.

Post

Some time ago I removed link to global presets from this post, because now (16.07.2025) after latest MSoundFactory update, my presets are part of factory collection and installs itself. You can find them using "Global Presets". In every section (like "bass", "leads" etc.) you should find subfolder "XTD". If someone wants presets file anyway (including few new ones) for keeping every of them together in separate folder - PM me.

Presets are not instruments - you cannot find them on the left section where you can see instruments images. Presets are single sounds without graphics (sometimes with few knobs to adjust some effects like reverb or delay) and are available only in "Global Presets" menu.
