Pigments 6

The addition of MTS-ESP support in Pigment 6 is the topmost feature to me.

Oh, cool! Didn't realize they added MTS-EPS support! Thanks for mentioning it.

It's been in there for a while now. It was definitely in v5 and I think v4 as well. I do like that arturia has put MTS ESP into most of their plugins.

Is there a way to trigger the regular envelopes with the envelope follower? That would be crazy cool but I haven't found how to do it if it's possible.

Nope, 99.9% sure it can't be done.

So I've spent a fair amount of time with Pigments 6 over the last couple of weeks and the candy colored top bar really bothered my eyes so I made an all grey version which looks like this in use:

Here's the file if anyone wants to use it, just drill down and find the old one, back it up just in case and overwrite it. Keep a copy because I assume it will be overwritten with every update of Pigments.

Nice. I also thought it was an odd design change. I know they've been having fun with some sort of generative imaging across the their plugin line. Its cool, but not a good idea for the main section of Pigments.

Thank you so much for this. The new toolbar bothered me as well, but it didn’t occur to me that it can be changed.

While I was « excited » by the new PM oscillators, I find myself not so in use. It’s great to be able to make and play « realistical » sounds but at the end it’s boring (as synthesizers are for « non tradtitionnal » sounds) and can’t see using those sounds in my music. What tricks do you recommend to go past « acoustic » sounds ?

Have you tried experimenting with the options for sending audio into it? I have found this can work very nicely for drones, atmospheres and pads.

I have had less success so far using this method for short, stabbier sounds but haven't given up yet.

Thank you! It's such a small detail, but it makes a huge difference. It's busy enough as it is without a distraction at the top.

Microtuning seems to be whacked in this. Scl/kbm and .tun files in Pigments are out of tune with Surge XT, Vital, and Odin2. I even tried to test with the free MTS_ESP Mini but it crashes my laptop. To be fair I only tested one scale (Ptolemy Diatonic Hermiolion) so other scales might be okay. Guess I'll try a few more and report back.

Edit: Yeah, either Pigments microtuning is off or Surge, Vital, and Odin2's are.

For PC users that would go:
C> Program Data> Arturia> Pigments> resources> images

Now if we could make the Macro labels capitalized and white or brighter blue i would be happy.

Any reason why the Comb filter in the synth filter section doesn't do feedback but in FX, it does feed forward and feedback? Or maybe I've just missed this option.

Such a strange synth for me. No matter how much I use it, it just doesn't seem to bed down. I used it almost exclusively for a while after the release of Pigments 6, took a week or two away, and feel sort of lost again. Something in the layout just doesn't suit my workflow I guess.
