this has been going on for a while, since I got my new computer (AMD 7950X, Win11).
Whenever I open a Melda plugin, after a couple of seconds, my screen goes black for a while and the the plugin or the DAW crashes.
The crash is always happening in the "atio6axx.dll", which is related to the AMD graphics driver (I use the onboard graphics of the 7950X).
Things I have tried:
- Different versions of the AMD graphics driver (all the ones I could find on the AMD site, which is not an easy task). Now on 31.0.24002.92
- different Hosts (Cubase, Reaper, VSTHost)
- sfc /scannow etc.
- different versions of the Melda plugins. Now on v17
to no result. Always crashing.
No other plugins on my system crash like that. I suspect it might have something to do with OpenGL, and I have searched in the settings if there is a way to disable OpenGL, but the plugins crash so fast that up to now I didn't have a change to find anything...
