Great free sampler!
Thank you for this impressive and free sampler.
I have used it to convert some old AKAI CD-ROM's in .iso format, in macOS Sequoia 15.3, together with Logic Pro 11.1.2.
Sometimes it complains with some image files, usually it's an .nrg or .iso file, and then it shows an error message, but it still loads fine in the file view, where you can scroll thru all the Programs of the disc, even the .wav files.
How can it load the .iso,.nrg,.img, there, but show an error when I try to load the whole disc?
Could you also please add support for E-MU, Ensoniq, Roland S-50-550 (12-Bit), Roland S- 700?

That most likely means there is either some error in the image, or, more likely, something in the disk image reader that cannot handle a particular quirk. The Akai format, like most sampler formats, is quite undocumented, all reading is based on reverse engineering done by people way more patient and devoted than I. And disks don't always match what little specs exist/have been inferred.

You can send me the image in question, and I will check if the reader can be improved to handle bank load.

As for Roland, e-mu, ensoniq etc. There exist no public info on these formats. Or very little, not enough to fully read them. I know there are converter software that can handle them. The people who created those spent a lot of time (or money) figuring out said formats. I don't have the info or resources.

Send me specs for a format, and I'lll happily consider adding it.

While there is a free version, wait until you get the pro version! 🙂 That’s where the magic is! And the price is great too!

Thank you for the explanation. I understand. Unfortunately, I don't have that image anymore. It was also a wrongly named factory sound bank for the AKAI S3000 that I found online, I can't even remember from where, and the sounds were quite plain and standard, and of no interest to me, so I quickly deleted it.
If I encounter this problem again, I will make sure to send it to you. Thanks again for your help.

I only really need the TX16Wx for the file format support. I know it's a very powerful sampler, and probably the only free one like this, but other than that, the Sampler, and the Auto Sampler in Logic Pro is all I need. It really made sampling and multi-sampling fun again. The DAW's that do not have great samplers, or GUI, like Ableton Live, Bitwig, FL Studio, Reaper etc, could use TX16Wx, or the TAL Sampler instead.

I'm trying to install this version on MacOS 14.5 with Reaper, but the plugin fails scanning.

Same same thing with Nuendo 12 (though I don't use it actively anymore). Are there some files that needs validation on MacOs for the plugin to be accepted on plugin scanning?

Post

Did you install the correct package for your OS version?

I would think so. This one: TX16Wx Software Sampler 3.7.0f Universal

If I try to install the other package (x64) the plugin is recognized, but loaded in a x64 bridge instead of native.

Thanks

Then I don't know. You are certain that Nuendo is not running in rosetta mode? (I am assuming from the context you are running an apple CPU).
Works fine for me on latest Sequoia. Can't test on 14.3 unfortunately.

I've been trying everything for the last 2 hours, this build doesn't work on 14.3 :(

14.3 of what? What kind of error are you getting?

M3 Pro, Sonoma 14.3

No errors but plugin is not showing in any DAW

Verified. Seems a libc++ linkage issue has materialized in the build (due to some workarounds to be able to solve OSX versions < 13.0). Will put up a fixed build asap.
