UA are reducing prices for their stock native bundles (Signature Edition 2, Studio Edition, Producer Edition, Essentials) by 40 % via a code that needs to be entered manually and announced that these bundles (not the prices) were "Leaving soon", would "go back into the vault" and other weird marketing lingo. From what I’ve seen since buying their native releases, they deprecate bundles, then come up with new combinations of plugins for new bundles, while releasing 1 or 2 new plugins.

They do not have upgrades to the new bundles, or at least they have not.

My impression is that they’re mostly focused on getting new users into their ecosystem with hopes everyone plays a game of Pokémon.

I’m actually using their stuff less and less, but I was happy to have these available after Waves nonsense. Mileage will vary.

Yeah, I don't like UA Connect either. It seems to run unnecessary background processes I'd like to understand. Anyone know about what these do and if they can be deactivated safely?

Generally speaking, everyone who places value on ethical licensing while needing a vast range of plugin functionality can just buy (or rent to own) Melda, Blue Cat and Fuse Audio.

All of the free UA plugins are machine authorized and my understanding is you can delete UA Connect after you install them. It's only the paid plugins where I believe UA Connect must remain.

I use paid UA plugins without UA connect.
Tho, it was uninstalling itself (connect)
for a while. I just disabled it at startup.
The plugins all work fine once installed.
