All of the free UA plugins are machine authorized and my understanding is you can delete UA Connect after you install them. It's only the paid plugins where I believe UA Connect must remain.

I always uninstall UA Connect. Never had issues with any of the (paid) plugins running.

My issue with UA Connect is needing it to register new licenses, install and update plugins. Why can't I register new licenses and download plugin installers from my account on their site?

The latter is my main gripe. You can't backup installers with how UA Connect works.

i'd probably Pokemon the whole lot if they just did machine auth, till then i'll just install the freebies and keep deleting UA Connect. The freebies don't need UA Connect installed.

Works like a charm (for me).

That does work but UAD plugins still require the iLok software to function so shutting down UAD Connect (and the UAD Helper process) is really just dealing with the lesser of two evils in my opinion.

I probably would have purchased all of the UAD plugins if they didn't require so much bloatware both from UAD and a third party company.

I saw that you have the th-u 60’s pack, with 2 versions, one that is 29.00 and says it is for owners of th-u premium, and one that is 39.00, which says that a th-u install is not needed but then later in the description says you must have th-u premium to install it. I
have the TH-U essentials that was free last month, and demo’ed this pack. I thought it sounded great, and then found it from B&H for 9.00, but it turns out that it was the version for which you need TH-U premium, so it wouldn’t activate. Just wondering if the 29.00 one is that one and the 39.00 one will activate with th-u essentials. The wording in the descriptions is unclear (that’s true on every site, including overloud’s, so it’s not you).

I try to buy any software from you when that’s an option and I’d like to do it this time as well.

To keep it relevant, UAD content doesn’t really cause me any issues on Mac running sequoia, but I usually do quit it once I’ve checked to see if there are any updates.

UAD’s marketing has been different since native arrived, and I don’t love that there isn’t credit for the plugins one already owns in a bundle, but I use lots of UAD on every mix and rely on the DSP still, even with my m1 mbp. As for ilok, I don’t love it but it’s an unfortunate reality with music software so I use an ilok key as well as cloud and machine auth when those are applicable.
