Update from Waveform 12 Pro to 12.5 having all sorts of issues

When I drag an audio file into a track, there is no Waveform drawn and no audio unless I click auto tempo (but then I cant stretch the file)

If I click Warp Time, the waverform and audio returns, but then "Show Clip Effects are greyed out."

I used to just manipulate my files and create mixes from files on my hard drive in an instant. Now I can't seem to get anything working the way I want to.

Update: While going through the settings I randomly tried unchecking "Audio clips use Proxy files by default" and suddenly I'm back to what I was used to. For now the above issues are resolved. The crashing described below continues to be an issue though...

And if I try to actually work with the DJ Tools included in 12.5, the program promptly crashes.

I haven't used Waveform in several months and I am regretting updating the software. What am I doing wrong?
